Mock drafts are really narrow at this point because we honestly have no idea how Ireland's board looks...especially after the 1st round. So Im going to put up my top 5 guys for the top 5 rounds with who I think will still be there. (In no particular order)

Round 1:
Ryan Tannehill QB
Luke Kuechly MLB
Quinton Coples DE
Michael Floyd WR
Mark Barron S

Round 2:
Janoris Jenkins CB
Chandler Jones DE/OLB
Rueben Randle WR
Mohamed Sanu WR
Josh Robinson CB

Round 3 A/B (Ill put 8 here for the two picks)
Bruce Irvin DE/OLB
Brandon Taylor S
Malik Jackson DE
Cam Johnson DE/OLB
LaMichael James RB
Donald Stephenson OT
Ryan Broyles WR
Joe Adams WR

4th Round:
Devon Wylie WR
Ledarius Green TE
Juron Criner WR
Oliver Vernon DE
Keenan Robinson OLB

5th Round:
Ryan Lindley QB
Tom Compton OT
Janzen Jackson S
Alfonzo Dennard CB
Jeff Adams OT

What about you guys? While doing this I noticed that there is ALOT of talent that will be on the board in the 3rd round still. We need to make those picks count.

have to say i really like your list...i think its just about all realistic also...don't see many guys you've under/overvalued...good job...although i do think chandler jones getting to #42 is a bit of a stretch...i believe wholeheartedly janoris jenkins is on the board at the start of day 2...good job with the top pick not putting down names of guys who will never get there...might be a little high on sanu given he's not a real speed guy...more a pick #60 guy to me than #42...i don't see how keenan robinson fits for us though...if thats jeff adams of illinios thats probably 2 rounds too low...dwight stephenson i think is more a 4th round value but i could see him coming off in the 3rd

I appreciate it. Chandler Jones is shooting up boards, that was a bit optimistic on my part. I do think Jenkins makes it to round 2. Also, on the Tanny draft winds it said we did in fact meet with him...I seriously hope we take him if he is there, he is an elite cover guy. Keenan Robinson would only fit if we were going to go to a lot of 4-3 looks, I just like his acceleration and he looks pretty smooth to me. I was talking about Jeff Adams from Columbia by the way...and Dwight Stephenson yeah I would be pumped to get him in the 4th, but I think his potential will push him up.

I like your list a lot as well. A couple I'd personally add would be Fletcher Cox (1st), Decastro (1st), Reuben Randle (2nd), Bobbie Massie (2nd-3rd), Chris Givens (3rd), TY Hilton (4th), Russell Wilson (4th-5th).

I like all of those guys as well. Just liked the others more. I do have Randle on my list though in the 2nd. Im not huge on Givens, but I like Hilton alot, I was torn between him and Joe Adams...went with Adams because he is a little bigger and just as explosive.

My bad bro, I looked right past Randle on your list.

mayock likes olivier vernons upside...has him the #68 rated prospect in the draft despite the lack of production... i'm just about ready to put my list together...finalizing a few things

Sounds good I look forward to reading it. I like Vernon as well...hes got the tools you look for

by the way bruce irvin evidently after his latest dustup he and his agent sent all 32 teams info on what happened etc and the overwhelming majority came to the conclusion after doing their research that his latest off the field issue was a non issue...

i'm still gonna keep him at high 3rd round territory on my board i moved him up a round after the walrus convinced me about his ability to carry 245 well despite playing at closer to 230 this season and his upside with those fantastic high end tools but don't be surprised if he goes off in round 2...and maybe in the top 50

That is interesting indeed. I can tell you this, I sure wouldnt be mad if we took in at 42..not at all. 3rd round would be better value, that is where I have him...but I like him better than Curry and some others that will go in the 2nd. He has double digit sacks written all over him

Vernon apparently has jumped more than I'd hoped. Fourth round would be a good investment.

I remember summarizing Vernon perhaps a month ago after ckparrothead mentioned him in a thread. Of all the guys Miami lost to early departure, Vernon was the one that frustrated me the most. He really looks the part and has a nasty streak. Likely to have more impact as pro than collegian, given his burst off the edge.

Admittedly, I don't know much about Vernon off the field. Shannon didn't allow players to talk to the media and last year Vernon was suspended for half the season and seldom interviewed. Some posters on Canes boards have knocked Vernon's character but it may be bitterness since Vernon was involved in the Shapiro scandal. I think a check was directed to his high school.

I will say this, if a talented receiver is there at the same time, I'd prefer that to Vernon. Tweener outside linebackers and scatbacks are two of the fraud positions, IMO, very easy to get suckered.
