Watching the film I am starting to come around on Barron. I had Johnson ahead but doubt is creeping in. Barron is so physical and versatile. You can line him up anywhere and know that he is going to lock it down.

I would not draft Johnson because he did not test. Barron tested, He is excellent except that he is 5-11. I would play him at nickle.
Isn't Kohou our nickel? We need a boundary DB opposite Ramsey.

Barron has played well on the boundary too but Johnson would be a better fit for that role.

I would still be happy with selecting Barron.

I would not draft a 5-11 DB in the first, or play a 5-11 DB other than at nickel. I would not draft either Johnson because he did not test, nor Barron because he will go in the first round.

IF I was comfortable with Kader on the boundary then Barron would make sense but I am not.

I would happily put Johnson at CB 2 and go about my business.

Johnson/Harmon/Banks/Williams/ seem like the targets that would address need and value at 13.

I’m out on both. Hopefully Harbaugh loves his former DB enough to trade up for.

If either slipped to 48, that'd be plus value, so it's not like I dislike them. 48 is more than Miami would get back for Hill or Ramsey. But, there are levels to this, and I agree that Johnson and Barron carry too many questions, concerns, and likely limitations to rate Top 20.

I think Trey Amos comes with less questions and a higher ceiling, but I think they're all pretty close and have their major positives. I love Johnson's ball skills and instincts in zone. I love how Barron plays, and I was liking him a lot at 48 before he started rocketing up consensus boards. Older player, short arms, could see him being an elite slot and could see him being an average to pretty-good slot, and if he's anything but elite, as a slot, at 13, that's basically a bust. Outside CB has more leeway but not that much more. If you're drafting a CB at 13, you're looking for shutdown ability, and if any of Johnson, Barron, and Amos have shutdown upside, that's Amos imo.

To be clear, I don't want any of them at 13.

I have Top 40 grades on them - Amos #21, Johnson #23, Barron #33 overall.

I have Amos as day 3. His 33" vertical was not good. He is not a plus athlete for the position. Barron either at 35". Im not a fan of this CB class, other than Darien Porter.

And Porter is a 6th year college player with one year starting as a CB.

I think I would rather have Amos in R2 than Barron/Johnson in R1.

I still like Johnson's tape but not running means even he knows he is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

Can he be Richard Sherman who could redirect(hold)guys and slow them down to his speed?

You don't see slow CB's drafted early, Johnson may slide quite a bit on Day 1.

Porter in round 4 or 5 would be nice. A lot of rare traits, size and potential. Just limited reps at CB and he is 2 or 3 years older than most prospects. Seems like best value for this position is in round 2 and beyond.
