Are you meaning to tell me the starter still is not named for tonight? Did Feeley take enough reps in practice this week with the 1s to be prepared to be the starter?

Ok Well is there anyone here that truly believes that AJ Feeley still has a shot to be the starting quarterback week 1, seeing how Gus is starting again tonight? Or does anyone want Feeley to start now that Gus is getting all these reps, do you wanna change QBs after this game??(assuming gus doesnt get hurt)

Gus I believe got most of the reps and hes starting this week.

I question how much of a competition there truley was. Not in the Wanny perfering Fiedler situation, but in the fact that Gus new the system better. I would think AJ should get more reps with the first stringers because he won't learn the system any other way....

Feeley did not participate with the first string offense at any time this week. He is working with the back-up players and I believe Sage has also worked with the 2nd string guys also.

And I truly think that we will be talking about all new QBs next year... Saban's first priority next year is to get a new QB in here... AJ wasn't really meant to learn this system as a starter. Saban brought in Gus to get us through this season. I bet if Gus goes down with an injury, we see Sage before AJ.

They are running the same offensive system with the back-ups. Practicing with the first string players will not help him learn the offense. I believe he would ****** the opportunity that the other first stringers have to learn Linehan's offense.

So in other words, there was a quasi QB competition and Saban never wanted to give AJ a chance. Sounds loike some other coach we know....

We should get a decent pick next year, and from what I've heard it should be a good qb class next year...

This is really just an ignorant post. If a rookie is brought in, he would have to compete to learn the offense, and compete against one or two (Gus/Feeley) guys that have been in the system for years, and by this time next year will be familiar with the play makers on offense. I do believe that a QB should be drafted at some point next year, relative to Miami's draft position- however, to proclaim the "new QB's" a year before anyone is even let go is ridiculous. Saban does not work that way.

Yea, I think it was USA Today that wrote any competition was a sham, and barring Gus ****ing up, he was the starter by default. Not because Saban is like Wannstedt, or a bad judge of talent, but more likely that Rick Spielman is the only person in professional football that sees starting material in AJ.

I like next years QB class, especially Jacobs, he seems like an awesome player. Next year is a good time to pick!
