I say it's Jason Allen. 1st rd pick has to step up and become a big time safety. If he does and teams with a healthy Y Bell the secondary all of a sudden becomes a force. We have needed that big time safety that all of the great defenses have. This kid seems to have a knack for making plays. I'm hoping the old D was so complicated that was the reason for his many mistakes - I hope! A simplified D - another year of NFL experience - and the right coaching and this kid could be a big difference in the D for years.

Channing Crowder. Three years as a starter and has yet to make any impact plays. If Channing step up his game, he just might be the next linebacking star for the Dolphins and ease the lost of not having Zach Thomas in the middle of the defense any longer.

the o-line needs to step up other than vernon carey. satele did well early on last yr but started regressing later in the season and i hope he doesn't fall into a sophemore slump. jake long needs to step up and show us he was worth the #1 pick. smiley needs to step up and show he can still be a very good gaurd after coming off an injury..if our o-line plays well then the offensive woes can only be hung on whoever starts at qb. we have to become a offense that can score anytime we get the ball and it starts with the line.
also the entire special team unit needs to step up..on d i would like to see our third down group step up and get us off the field and the ball back in the hands of the offense..we did great last year on first and second downs then tanked on third mostly due to poor tackling and being out of position.

our problems last yr was more than just one person but i do agree with both you and fatkirsty. hagan needs to become more consistant and allen needs to make me eat crow.

Obviously John McHenne is the most important but the new blood veteran defenders like Ferguson, Anderson, Torbor, and the rest need to inject a new feel to the defensive side of the ball.

Ronnie Brown...dont get me wrong fellas...it was nice to see him breakout last year...for 7 games....but thats not gonig to cut it...especially for the number 2 overall pick...he's got a lot to prove that he deserved it....guys..its plain to see when healthy, you'd think your watching a LaDainian Tomlinson clone....but do you really believe Parcells would buy into Ronnie's.."Im gonig to play some games, but get hurt some how and miss the rest of the season"...but,not to sound liek a hater, cause Im not,I love R. Brown, but how would you feel if you were the coach, and your number 2 overall pick gets hurt, and misses the rest of the games year after year....thats not getting your moneys worth at all...hopefully Ronnie can last AT LEAST 13 weeks...or MIA could be pushing for a RB in the 09 draft...and dont ever cancel out Beenie Wells...out of Ohio State...because this kid is one of the best, and if Ronnie gets hurt again, who will we turn to?Ricky said only 2 more years, and Jalen is still too raw,Wells coudl be our man if Ronnie can't seem to stay healthy....hopefully the two-back system will help Ronnie stay healthy, and also get him some rest, because he is used to it...he was like that with him and Carnell at AU,and it looks like he has to rely on another back in the NFL

Correct me if I'm wrong, but would Jalen have a full year more of experience on Beenie next year? If Jalen is too raw, what does that make Beenie next year?

Ronnie Brown needs to step up and show he can stay healthy for the entire season. If he's healthy, he's fantastic.

Ricky Williams needs to show he's dedicated, he may not be his prime but we need dedication and pride more than anything right now. He needs to show that.

Regan Mauia needs to show he's not a troublemaker and can be the fullback he's hyped to be and showed glimpses of last year.

Derek Hagan needs to play like college. Period.

Matt Roth needs to have a good year this year wether he plays DE, OLB or just special teams. He needs to play with intensity.

Channing Crowder CAN be good and needs to show that. He needs to start making big plays and be the young leader of this defense.

Joey Porter I believe will play better in the 3-4 but he needs to show more dedication and play like his pro bowl Steelers seasons

Jason Allen needs to prove why he as a good choice in the first round, which at this point means he should have an outstanding season which I don't really expect.

lol...Beenie will be A LOT better and less raw than Jalen comnig out...

so let me get this straight....are you saying Jalen Parmele is on the same level as Beenie Wells????

if you are,you must be kickin it with Ricky....:ricky:

While I won't put words in another persons mouth and I am not an expert on College players, it seems to me that some players come out of college more ready to start then others. That could be what he meant.

thats exactly what I meant,and thank you:up:

Derek Hagan, Matt Roth, Travis Daniels, Channing Crowder, and Jason Allen are among a few people that really have to step up their play this year.
