Who wants to bet the little weasel ireland survives the storm

With this oline, it is doubtful that we can protect RT or run the ball. If we make it to 8-8, it will be a miracle
8-8? we are good enough to make the playoffs without cogz and without j mart......we beat tampa and san diego which is very likely to happen and we r 6-4 with a home game vs the panthers.
we also play the jets twice bills once and steelers once those r also 4 very winnable games so if we win those 4 and beat tampa and san diego we r 10-4 and will probly beat either the panthers or patriots to finish 11-5...

Very likely to beat Tampa and San Diego? I don't think that's a very accurate statement imo

The only mistake Ireland made with regard to this situation was drafting the BIG WEIRDO in the first place. Dude was terrible at his job and that's a fact.

J-Mart is a certified bust of a pick, doesn't matter how you slice it.
Not only is he a bust, but it's at a position that was of high importance, filling the gap of Jake Long and protecting the blind side of our new QB.
No matter what you may think of Jake at the end of his Miami career, the guy was a Pro Bowl stud of a LT, and at one point, the best player production-wise on the team IMO.

He also brought in Incognito. Even though that could be looked at as more a plus than a minus (he's a leadership role and got guys fired up), Ireland HAD to have known what the consequences were when he brought him in. He's a firecracker that could easily go off, if not on the field, somewhere else.
He Also brought in...
Brandon Marshall (not right fit for Henne, and a headcase. Out of Miami after enough incidents)
OchoCinco (lol)
Karlos Dansby (underwhelming considering his immense paycheck)
For what it's worth, he also eliminated any chance of Dez Bryant wanting to play for Miami. Some may not like Bryant anyways, but how many GM's in the NFL do you know that piss off players in interviews?

The good players that he's picked up (Ellerbe, Gibson, possibly Wallace and Keller) I think are simply because he had no choice but to go on the big shopping spree to save his job.

I simply don't believe in Ireland as our future GM if he continuously makes Very costly blunders like this.

In the corporate world, this is enough (one big blunder) to end his career. I've said it before .... terrible vetting job.

I dont because they are obviously more talented than their backups.
We have one good olineman as of now and his name is Pouncey

mckinnie is pretty dang good, hes motivated that's the key difference between him now and him with the ravens. they also just lead a rushing attack to its highest output of the season without martin and Incognito sat half that game. the line well be fine

Another night's sleep, another refreshed perspective:

First ditto on Ireland's screwing up on the Martin draft (on which i was high cuz he seemed to do a good job protecting Luck in a Harbaugh offense).

My opinion that Martin is no innocent, is either actively contriving and conspiring with a bunch of parasitic lawyers including his parents or is their naive dupe, hasn't changed an iota.

It's easy to blame him for his lack of intestinal fortitude and over-estimating his ability to be a sensitive and soft boy manning up to play a man's game. So to that end, this largely artificial and probably league non-anomalous media-fueled tempest in a teapot that could well bring down the franchise was unnecessary, avoidable and in a microcosm, on him because it should and could have been handled in house if the legal sharks didn't see $$ signs out of several deep pockets, on separate hot-button PC offenses, that, after the concussion precedent and ensuing maelstrom, the NFL would be anxious to settle out of court with sealed documents for tens of million$ to sidestep another legal precedent and a bunch of other pusses coming out of the woodwork.

But to quote perhaps our dumbest HC "at the end of the day" it's on Ireland for not properly vetting Martin, especially since now his HS coach says he was the most likely on the team to be bullied.

I also think this pic with several of his Stanford teammates might shed some light on his personna.

imo there isnt much of a middle ground as a player. you are either an asset or a liability. a solution or a problem. as a gm you are responsible for the entire roster. jeff ireland has brought far more problems here than solutions. incognito and martin just add to that list. ireland keeps getting a pass and he's done nothing to earn that.
