Who wants to guess the 53 man roster...

...have to admit I haven't been as focused on the Fin's this preseason as normal. One, because the Brewers are in the middle of a pennant race. And two, the outlook is a bit grim for the Fins this season. Although I have watched the last two games, and think there are somethings to be excited about. And, I dont think we are gunna be as bad as some of the talking heads are predicting...

With that being said, anyone wanna take a stab at the final roster??
 
Here's 47, I'm having a tough time with the last 6. Our backup TE's are unispiring, not sure who they'll keep.

I like it.

I still think that Phillip Livas will make the team as a returner. He has changed the kick off and punt strategies of the teams we have played. That is the big reason he has not broken another one. He will never make it though waivers to the practice squad.

And I'm not sold on Polite making the team

The offensive line is such a mess, I dont want to speculate on that.

I don't think Livas can make the team purely as a returner, and he doesn't contribute much anywhere else. That's why I think he gets cut.

I don't think Polite should make the team, based on the offense we want to run, but he's a Sparano favorite, which likely means he will be safe.

That's why I left him in there. Otherwise I would have cut him and added possibly another DB or LB for special teams.
 
After tonight, it should be pretty clear with the exception of a few guys who will be on the 53 man.

I suspect we have at least two guys picked up from other teams, one of which should be a RB and maybe a TE.

I don't think there's a chance in hell we go with only 2 QBs. We'll also need to find a 3rd TE off waivers. Polite, Johnson and M. Moore/R. Wallace are all solid candidates to get the axe in order to free those two spots. I'd add Hilliard, but it'd make me sick if we kept Johnson over him, no matter how unspectacular Lex is.

Lex will be kept, he's a core special teamer, and while he's not a great RB, he's proven that he can at least take a few carries, and catch some balls from the backfield.

Same with Wallace, the only way I see him getting cut is due to injury, or if someone surprising gets cut that we can pick up off the waiver wire.
 
I predict Marlon Moore and Jason Trusnik will make it while Aaron Spitler, Philip Livas & Will Allen will not.
 
I'm going to have to re-evaluate my 53. I think Will Allen made the team, Ray Willis looked very good pulling and Ryan Baker is making a tough case not to keep him.
