The bills exploited everything underneath today. I know we had 2 backup linebackers and a waste of space in wheeler today but who was responsible for covering watkins in the crossing routes today?

Missing half our regular Defense and - and you are surprised - when we don't get that pressure, that these routes open up?

The problem was we had 0...ZEROOOOOO....pressure on the QB. You can only expect guys to cover so long. And if anyone wants to blame the LB's...what the hell is a coach doing expecting an LB to cover Watkins?

i get the backups but this wasn't a product of lack of a pass rush. Manuel had the balls out quick. This was serious miscommunication issues in the secondary or just bad play altogether. Watkins was open and wide open a lot.

It was a mismatch period and they exploited it. Kinda like we tried to exploit Clay on them to some extent. We had no one to match up and cover Watkins or Spiller IMO.

I agree with BG - Manuel was getting the ball out under 3 seconds every play. Quick passes to Watkins and relying on his YAC. It seemed the problem was no one could play hardball with him at the LOS and interrupt his release. Sad when you know what's coming repeatedly and repeatedly fail to stop it...

These routes being open have more to do with limiting the pass rush than the other way around. I don't know why anybody is surprised at the Bills exploiting the middle, even without backup LB's Coyle's defense has been exploited mercilessly over the middle going back to last year. We limit the big play over the top but are very prone to allowing 10 small plays. The Bills just did that better today than most team's do because of their playmakers and because their scheme had players catching that pass in stride instead of having to catch and turn to run upfield.
