What's this board think about starting QB next year?

Will Pennington be the starter?

I've always been a big fan of Pennington. I think he's a smart guy, makes good decisions and is for the most part safe.

I never thought Henne would be anything, and I didn't like him at Michigan. But he has shown some very nice things this year, but at the same time has made some erratic throws, and overthrown wide open recievers a few times.

For me, I think Henne has shown enough though. He SHOULD only get better with more experience and you would think that would mean he will calm down a bit and get more comfy and make better throws more consistently.

The main thing though is that Henne can open up the offense and throw the ball down field since he has a bigger arm. If it weren't for that, I'd say stay with Pennington.

CLIFF NOTES:

START HENNE NEXT YEAR YALL

Are you serious? I guarantee barring injury Chad Henne will be our quarterback. I have no idea who wouldn't want him to start.

why don't you like pennington

cause he got us 0-3 if u must know

plus ive hated him most of his career since he was a rival

but last year i forgave him but honestly u wouldnt be 6-6 with him we'd be havin dinner with the browns and ****

The real question here probably is: who is the vet backup next year, Penny (if we sign him) or Thigpen. Don't remember how much of Thigpen's contract is left, but I can't imagine we traded for him just for this season only (as backup). I don't see us keeping both of them and while Penny is steady, I think Thigpen has a little more upside potential (as a quality backup that can make the same type of plays as Henne).

Isnt Penny a FA after this year?/? He'd be a nice player to have as a backup imagine how awesome it would be to fall back on a guy who is the NFL's all-time Completion % leader.

Henne is our QB there is no point of even talking about it. Pennington is a free agent, and who knows where he will end up. I would like to see him as our back up, but I doubt it happens.
