Every year a few guys surprise in training camp. Who will it be this year. My predictions are:

Holmes TE = Will fit well as a H-back
Turner LB = Called the defenses at LSU
Elam S = This guy had to have some skills for Saban to weather the PR problems
Meeks OG = Rated high, but has asthma. That is probably why he was not drafted.
Williams S = Kept on practice squad and eventually called up last season.
Sesay TE = Several teams bid high to get this guy from Missouri
Thompson DT = A guy with his size and strength has a good shot to surprise
Pope LB = I include him because a lot of people say he does not fit Saban's system and I say he can if wants to.
Roundtree CB = If healthy, he will challenge for roster; he was on his way to make the team last year before injury
Shaw DT = I have a feeling about this guy.

Please submit your own surprise guys. Thanks,

I like Vickerson. He played his senior year on two hurt ankles, and from what I have heard he has a nice mean streak. THats kinda an oxymoron "Nice Mean streak", but yal know what I mean. I think he is going to be solid. As far as UDFA's are concerned, I am going to go with Elam. I know a lot of people are agiants his signing, but I feel that is not fo rm to decide. I think Saban would have only taken him and his history if he did not have skills. Actually, the UDFA with the most upside will end up being Shydrona Mitchell, but obviously we wont know until 06 about him.

Atari Bigby = The New Dreadlock Demon

 agreed, I guess he'll surprise not from i saw cause I haven't, but cause there's a lot of chances at S position, we don't have a lock at both safeties positions though tebucky and tillman seems the choices over there..

Bigby, and the TE holmes looks pretty good. A 285lb pass catching blocker would be nice.

harris could make a talented (and crowded) backfield
Hadnot- may push to start
Turner- Lsu rookie will play special teams and take back up spot on roster
josh daniels may be a surprise too

Ricky Williams - butt-nugget said he wanted to disappear.

Jack Hunt - was the free safety for Saban when LSU won the National Championship.
Free safety is open and he knows Saban's defense as well if not better than anyone on the roster.

Even though you hate him, you think he will surprise in training camp.. Sweet

I like Roundtree (CB).

I watched him play in the Claymores/Admirals game a few years back.
From what I saw, he has some good ball skills and instincts for the position.
(One of his INT's was a beautiful Chambers-esque diving catch!)

It will be intersting to see how he runs, following that sick injury that he suffered in pre-season last year.
I hope he recovers enough to push for a roster spot, hopefully enough to edge in as the dimeback.

Sure you didn't leave anyone out? I doubt all these guys make the roster, too improbable, we have too much talent already. I'd say half of these guys impress at most, remember how strong our draft picks look.
