The Miami Dolphins number two cornerback spot is up for grabs as training camp approaches next month. This off-season the Dolphins locked up their number one cornerback, Xavien Howard, with a massive contract extension, but are still looking to round out the position.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Cordrea Tankersley show up and show out and unequivocally nail down that spot. But … I don't think it will happen. I'm guessing the veteran Rowe wins it, with this being a position to draft a replacement for in the 2020 draft.

It’s obviously going to be Eric Rowe. He is the best relative seasoned veteran we have but does have have the burn factor. He is the best we have at this point and is a decent size and came on the cheap. I really liked him out of school. Hopefully our safeties can compensate.

As a side note, I suppose I should change my avatar. I have been reading but not posting.
May not be a bad idea, the avatar that is. Rowe looks to have the upper hand, hopefully Tank steps up and at least competes for the job.

Voted Rowe, but want Tank to step up, or Armstrong, I like his highlight reel..

I think Eric Rowe will start the season at that spot but I don't imagine he keeps it. Not sure he's as good as I'd like him to be.

Jalen Davis and Jomal Wiltz are worth keeping an eye on.

Hope its someone that gets cut in another camp because the guys we have now will not cut it.

I voted Rowe, he's def got the inside track.

I hope it’s a real open battle in camp..

Let the best man win, even if it’s a rook

I said Rowe, who is the obvious and safe choice, but with Rowe you get solid, but nothing special above that...which for a #2 corner, it may be enough, but Tankersley in my opinion if he is healthy, and the light goes on, could be very good.

If Tankersley in pre-season is ready, don't be surprised if he outduels Rowe.

I really don't care about playing it safe this year, the philosophy from the staff imo should be the year to give young players with upside their shot, let’s find out what we have as far as unknown personnel goes..This is the year to do it..

I voted Rowe, as well. Mostly based on the fact that he played for Flores before, therefore he apparently has enough upside in his opinion.

I thought Jalen Davis had some upside, when he was given some snaps.

What is the percieved flaw in his game? Is size the main issue? Anyone have opinion, or insight?

I'm really pulling for an unknown to emerge as the clear starter.

That's a real longshot, but it would be my preference for Jomal Wiltz, Jalen Davis, or some other unheralded player to surprise.

Wrote a few things about him predraft, saw some good insight from J-Doll as well...posted some of these thoughts before..

“This kid Jalen Davis is intriguing..I don’t know man, un drafted free agents corners don’t look like that when they play, this kid is too smart, and too instinctive to not be drafted.”

“ I’ve taken a quick look at davis thus far, tell you what, talk about being calm and quick and smart as you play defense, from the reps I looked at it really looked like the game had slowed down and he was just playing effortlessly.”

That was from college..and I didn’t see many weaknesses.

Your guess is as good as mine.

I think he’s highly instinctive, with hi football IQ, quick, and can cover..excellent at reading zone and pattern matching Concepts.

What stood out the most to me is how easy he made it look in college, almost like the speed was too slow for him, so I’m sure his rookie year there was a jump in that speed, but I also think as soon as he catches up we will see similar style of play we saw in college where he’s just CCC..

He’s just small, which leaves him susceptible on deeper routes..

Hell of a find imo
