during his press conference coach Saban does not say who the starting qb will be. He says "whoever gives us the best opportunity to win" but nothing more. This has to be frustating to both qbs, and the team as a whole. After 4 preseason games and no clear cut starting qb yet...wow!

It is certainly possible there *is* a clearcut starting QB but that Saban is trying to keep it quiet to make it tougher to gameplan for the Dolphins going into week 1.

its pretty obvious though. everything feeleys accomplished hasn't been with the first team, and everything Gus has accomplished is pretty much the same. Its sad, but its true.

I take it Compton just doesn't have enough in the tank to consider. If so, that's too bad because he used to be plenty good to make teams.

Listen up all you feeley supporters! I Do not think AJ will be starting based on what I heard. If AJ starts this week would you then conclude that he is the starter for week one? I wouldn't.

I cant understand why people think Frerrote is so bad, i thought He played pretty good for the stuff that was gamelplanned for. i thought Aj played well too. So what? I think the main thing we want to do as a team is not make mistakes that go for TD's the other way for TD's. So far I have not seen a whole lot of possibilities from Frerrote in this regard. I think Feeley is much better than last year based on the last two showings. I just want to say, whoever gets the nod, you should support and stop overreacting to every little thing that goes wrong for one guy or the other, I think it is absurd to say the least. If AJ Feeley ends up the backup, you should not feel disgruntled because you know sooner or later, he will get his chance, and it is better tom come into a situation where you are called upon in a pinch, than knowing you are the starter. That is where AJ can make his mark and he can make it when the 53 man roster is complete and he will get to work with the same recievers as well. So all you Feeley supporters, just chill out man, its getting a bit silly listening to all this hype about who is better when we need to have a complete team, not just a QB.

I kills me to say it but I think you are right. From what I got, which is ALOT more confused, it sounds as though he wants to keep Gus there next week. However I think that press conf. was also a sign to Gus saying you better show up next week or AJ could take your spot.

Sorry the Feeley chatter is a little louder because he has more supporters. Just remember your own advice when Gus's Bus is in PARK on Sept 11 against the Broncos.

I'll root loud for whoever is behind center that day, after all they'll be the ones handing the keys to THE BROWN TRUCK all day

Did you even watch the game? My wife watched the game, and she does not even watch and stated that he is not doing very well. I thought that he would do well if given the time and the oline gave him plenty of time. No he is not a good QB. So as far as I am concerned, if I was given the choice, I would go with AJ. When given the time he played much better than Gus. IMO

Gus is the starter. Yeah, he hasnt been doing so well lately- but Saban isnt going to switch QBs at this point since Gus has been w orking with t he first team for the past 3 weeks.

Saban isnt serving wanny waffles this year.

i think saban would feel more comfortable with gus but his press conference sounded almost like a plea for gus to finally step up. i really think if gus tanks next week aj starts week 1. look for linehan to give gus a nothing but short dumpoffs to pad the completion percentage so that they can justify starting gus

It's happened to me before too.

I can't imagine Saban or Linehan doing that. Remember Saban has always said that he will start whoever gives him the best oportunity to win. Padding the comp. % to justify a starter sounds like something the previous coaching staff would do, not the present one.
