Some people believe we should draft an eventual replacement for Jason Taylor. But out of these three, who would be best for that role?

Quentin Moses?
Lamar Woodley?
Gaine Adams?

(please wait for poll)

I'll say Gaines Adams simply because I think he fits the JT hybrid mold. He'll be able to put his hand in the dirt and play some end, but could be an excellent pass-rushing OLB. Imagine he and JT coming off the corners.

I say none because I believe Roth will develop in to a great player so we don't need another high round DE pick If anything I'd like to see us draft Posluszny or Landry

yea i want that poluszny kid on this team, thats the kind of football player this team needs to draft,i don't care if he's small i don't care if he plays zach's position, thats the kid i want.let him learn behind zach for one year and then the great middle linebacker tradition will continue

Posluszny wouldn't be taking over Zacks position he'd be taking spragans.

j.t has 3 or 4 more good years out of him, so dont start thinking about his repleasement , i know hes 30 but come on, look at sapp, strahan, k.carter, they are all older than j.t and are still solid starters.

I'd say Adams is the one who is the best physical talent for the position, but Woodley is the safer bet IMO.

Roth doesnt play JT's position. They are both defensive ends, but closed end/open end are two distinct positions with distinct requirements. Matt Roth is a 285 pound closed end, whose job is run-1st on base defense downs. Jason Taylor is a open end, who lines up wide and rushes upfield.

Posluszny would be a waste at Spragan's position. That position has to constantly fight with blockers on the line of scrimmage. Poslunszy would have to bulk up for one of the other two positions.

all i can say is, no to gaines adams. Because why would we want another setback on behalf of a person trying to learn multiple positions in saban's defense (i.e. J. Allen). I just want someone who will have an immediate impact. Someone to replace spragan.

I don't think we are looking for JT's replacement this year, maybe next or the year after. But, I picked Woodley because he can fit into the LB position very well and we would get some good blitzing out of him.

I dont think we need to replace JT just yet, but I wouldnt mind having either Adams or Woodley. After watching Woodley tear apart my beloved (yet pathetic) Spartans, I would love to see him in a Dolphins jersey.

Roth is a stiff. I would take Adams because he could start and contribute right away.

im not quite sure you guys understand. as of now, the defense is not the problem. for the next few years, we will be fine with the defense, with the exception of our secondary, which in my opinion can be bolstered in free agency. keep in mind that zach thomas was a 5th rounder, and most defensive players are not early round picks. chambers cannot do **** for our team, and ive given him plenty of chances to prove us wrong. but what does he do? he drops the ball! ever since that sunday night game against the broncos, when kennoy kennedy gave him that nasty licking, hes been a *****. if he were on any other team he would at best be their number 3 wide receiver. so what do i think we do with our pick? draft calvin jackson, and immediate upgrade and impact player who can win us ball games single-handedly. or draft brady quinn or troy smith as insurance to culpepper as the future of this franchise.
