For Ted Ginn to put up the gaudy numbers so many of you think he should be putting up as our #1 receiver or a #9 draft pick, he would need 40 - 50 more opportunities per year. To do this, we would have to take touches away from other players.

Which player do you think we should give less touches too?

ricky. he stole ronnie's thunder this year. i love ricky. he was great but put cobbs ahead of him. i know ricky probably had more yards per carry. whatever. wait til we get are guards back and ronnie can run up the middle. he will be in the top five of rushing if they dont let ricky have all the carries. cobbs is hungry for the ball and wants to play, as well as ricky but cobbs is younger and will be here longer.

I actually think the way we spread the ball was pretty perfect. Look at that distribution. impressive.

I don't see how sacrificing wins to get Ginn more touches would be better...

Whatever it takes to win. If that means Ricky and Ronnie split, than they split. If that means Cam and Bess get most of the passes thrown their way, so be it.

Whatever helps us win. Like citizen snips said, we distributed the ball around pretty darn well this season. Keep it going. That is what Penny is great at, let him keep doing it!

GO PHINS!!!

How about we get more talent in the pass rush and a better Oline and there will be more first downs creating more touches for everyone.

I love having so many weapons. That was my point. It will prolong everyone, especially Ronnie's career.

Actually, it's very likely, based on Ronnie's injury history that if he'd take touches from Ricky that he may not've made it through the season.

I am for whoever touches the ball helping us win. This notion of X number of touches yeilding X result in hooey. You know, If I came out of the stands and carried the ball once, and, the Dolphins won the game it would show in the stat line that whenever GoonBoss gets one touch, the Dolphins win 100% of the time. It wouldn't make the numbers valid, but, there it is...Right there in black and white.

very true. but when ronnie tore his ACL, he was our only play maker. he touched the ball on 1st and 2nd down. and most time 3rd. he was being over worked because we had nobody else.

I'm not so sure about that. Look at his past two injuries. He broke his hand when it swung out and hit a defenders facemask. That had nothing to do with carries. Then he tore his acl on a fluke tackle attempt during an interception.

I don't really think of Ronnie as injury prone because his injuries have all been kind of reak accidents. It's not like a player such as Brian Westbrook or Fred Taylor in his early years when the players always had pulled hamstrings, sprained ankles and other injuries like that every game.

I didn't use the term "injury pron" because people start screaming like banshees when I use it in connection with Ronnie. I used the term "Injury history". As you quite rightly point out he blew out his ACL. I don't care how he *did* it...The fact remains it was done. That sort of injury usually takes two years to come back from and, the more hits Ronnie took this season, 'specially with his propensity to lower his shoulder and deliver a hit, that not fully recovered knee may not've made it the whole year.

I agree. I do not think "touches" need to be taken from others in order to increase Ginn's touches. What is needed is more time/plays on offese. However, recognizing there are only so many offensive plays per game, if there would have to be a decrease in touches by others those touches would likely be shared by the other WRs. I don't see Ginn's touches being significantly increased through returns or runs from scrimmage, nor do I see a decrease in TE production.

Finally, what would really excite me would be to see Ginn average close to 20 yards per touch with 5-10 touches per game (unless all touches were kick-off returns). Now that would be a big play threat.
