Pats, Bengals, or Colts? Saturday or Sunday?

Personally, I would rather play the Colts for several reasons......

1) IMHO they are the weakest team in the AFC playoffs

2) We have already proven we can beat them on the road(the Pats and Bengals are both undefeated at home btw)

3) I think if the Pats get the 2nd seed, the Colts game is the one that will be played on CBS on Sunday.

Reasons I would rather play on Sunday.....

1) Its my birthday. The Phins have historically performed well on my birthday. In fact, one of Marino's great victories came in the playoffs vs. the Chiefs on my birthday. Dan lead the phins on TWO 4th qtr TD drives to give the phins a 17-16 victory.

2) The extra day. Playing on the road a day earlier could be a factor, but since we have played all 3 teams before, perhaps not as much.

FWIW, the Saturday game would be on Don Shula's birthday.

If it comes down to it, I think CBS would take the Pats game on Sunday. But, if the Pats this week they will have a 1st round bye. That should happen. So that leaves the Bengals and Colts. I just think the CBS team would take the Colts game because of Andrew Luck. The Bengals game would be less marketable and likely played on Saturday on NBC.

Now, for the Bengals not to be the 2 or 3 seed, they would have to lose to Baltimore, which puts us in a tough spot of having to hope the Chargers win at 4pm. While Im pretty sure the Chargers will win, I cant actively root for the Ravens knowing that it would knock us out if the Chargers did lose. The Chiefs are going to rest guys and SD will still be playing for a winning season in front of the home crowd...... that does matter to those guys. The Chiefs have accomplished plenty this season and that game matters nothing to them.

It likely wont matter because I expect the Bengals to crush the Ravens. Its going to be a tough order for us to beat them on the road if they are 8-0 at home and coming off a couple of blowouts back to back in that building.

And before anyone comes in here and says....... "BUT we have to get there first!!" I have a message for you..............

One of my favorite games I've been to

Honestly, I don't care what day, what time, or who it is. I will just be elated to be in the select few of Playoff Teams. Hey, I'm just glad to be here!

But we can play with anyone in the first round, not worried there.

I want to play Auburn again......Crap!!! Wrong forum....I don't care...I just want to get in.

I had a HUGE write up going on. But I stopped and decided this: IF we play to our potential we could beat any one of these teams. But therein lies the problem. With out coordinators, we likely would not. It's hit or miss.

I am fine with the way things are if the playoffs started TODAY. We would play in Cincinatti. We already beat Cincy on Halloween, so we know we can beat them again. We also beat the Colts...the only positive is you don't have to worry about the weather indoors at Lucas Oil Field in Indy. If we make it that far and win, we then would play here in Colorado against the Broncos. I would love to see Miami play a playoff game here, and shut up all the Bronco lovers here, especially my relatives. :woot:

I don't think it really matters. Preferably the colts because of the dome. With our luck there will be a foot of snow in cincy.

first let's hope the ravens don't win and the chargers lose. that way the ravens beating the lions didn't hurt us at all.

I kind of like the Pats matchup. Brady is something to be concerned of obviously but their D is our most favorable matchup. A little concerned what an amped up Colts and Bengals D would do to us. Especially seeing what the Colts were able to do to the Donks in a big game environment. I like Sunday just because it is more time to travel and what not. Unless one team has injury issues.

The Jets are going to beat us Sunday. They are going to employ similar blitz packages to Buffalo and kick our asses. Our guys are reeling and the Jets played well last week.

Turn out the lights the parties over and get used to Junc talking about knocking us out of the playoffs at home all offseason while we try to spin it some other way. Shoe will be on the other foot. Thad Lewis and Geno in back to back weeks, yay!

If we get in, it's most likely to be the Bengals.

Personally, I would be lying if I said the Colts wouldn't be my first choice. Guaranteed a good weather game, they have been struggling a bit since losing their best player, and we seem to match up well against them.

It doesn't matter who they get I don't see them winning the game.

The important thing to not lose sight of,

is that they have made big steps this year.

Can the colts even get the 3 seed? I thought just cincy and the pats
