i don't claim to be an offensive coach but for cryin out loud, i wouldn't run the ball up the middle when i'm in position for a field goal already, they were in the middle of the field, 5 yds either way wouldn't of made any difference. throw it to the endzone, if the receiver isn't open then throw it out of bounds, then kick the field goal. this isn't rocket science!:err:

That was infuriating. That was basically the Dolphins admitting that they don't trust Chad and our offense to complete an 11 yard play.

they did the same thing last week by not going for it on 4th and an inch.(not to mention that friggin hochuli putting the ball back at least a foot.:boohoo:

I sorta agree, however if the run worked and they scored Henning and Sporano would be geniuses right now... I think there was some worry about giving up a negative play at that point though

Henning needs to be fired?? I think Henning, Sparano and Lee have done a solid job with this O so far.... by the way love the Jim Jensen sig, one of my fav players growin up

The one thing I will say is the play calling (up until some of the plays today) has been good. We as fans complained over the last 6 or 7 years because the offensive play calling was so blah or vanilla or however you look at it.

And now we're seeing alot more creativity. I hate to defend the play calling today because I thought it was poor at times...but I cant really complain too much overall. If I did (as some of the fans do here anyway) I'd be the ultimate hypocrite. Complain when the play calling is 3 yards and a cloud of dust and complain when its creative. The oline is getting better, the running backs and TEs are solid. The rest of the offense is suspect at best. Until the WR corp is dramatically improved, it's gonna be tough to move the ball how a very good offense moves the ball in the NFL.

No probs with Lee or Sparano really, but, Henning simplay, besides the Wildcat, cannot think outside the box at all.

Thanks on the sig comment. Crash is the man!:woot:

I think Henning has proven he is flexible working with Lee to install the wildcat.... whenever Henning does go I'm thinking Lee would likely be promoted anyway

Other than the wildcat, which may or may not have run its course, Henning seems to be way too conservative.

What else would you suggest, he is taking some shots down the field on the intermediate routes... it's tough cause we lack top tier talent on the outside

I'm not sure if we are watching the same game. I haven't been seeing these "shots" down field. The pass to the flat on 3rd and short is incredibly frustrating.

The one play I didn't understand was th QB sneek on 2nd and 12, was this a busted play I was watching on the internet and you don't always get a great picture but it looked like that was what was called.:err:

Last week for instance Penny had 5 pass completions for over 25 yards, they do attack the middle of the field with Martin and Fasano in particular, as well with Camarillo and the halfbacks... Penny had multiple pass completions over 20 yards agst New England and agst SD.... most of these completions didn't come from the Wildcat, Ithink oly one did and that was the 53 yarder to Cobbs agst HT... This is much improved, dating back to the 2005 season when we were able to go down field a bit more.... when I say shots downfield I was referring to the intermediate seam routes between 15-25 yards roughly... look at the stats we've hit a lot of those this sseason

I agree with you on the 3rd downs and the 4th down play at the end of the game frustrated me. you have to throw beyond the markers with a defense that tackles as well as Balt
