Okay,

I know everyone on here has either watched, listend or at least read about training cam and Pre-season to date. I also know that there is an ever-expanding contingent of people who have drawn multiple conclusions from July and August. The conclusions include: weak O-line play, lack of a QB stepping up and performing well, etc.

My question is: Why is everyone so eager to base decisions on a season that hasn't even started yet on the first few preseason games? Who is to say that we won't fix the o-line and QB problems either before the season or as it begins?

I'm sure if we search hard enough we'll find plenty of teams that have performed poorly in the pre-season and gone on to have winning records.

I know it's homerish but I think with our new coaching staff and our defense/playmakers at receiver and rb we could turn the tide and find ourselves in possible contention for a playoff spot in December.

Think Rams in 99 went from 3-13 to SuperBowl Champs
Think Panthers in '02? 2-14 to Superbowl
Think Patriots in '00 went from 3-13 to Superbowl Champs.

Numerous teams have gone from losing seasons to playoffs or in contention......why couldn't we think the same way at this date in August....?

Bash away!

IMO its easy to be that optimistic but those three teams was dominant on one side of the ball...tampa and Carolina were and still is dominant on defense.(we are good but we still have concerns) and St Louis was the proclaimed "greatest show on turf" thier offense was Dominant...and they got it done defensively too

Rams-Kurt Warner

Patriots-Tom Brady

These are quality QB's, not trying to bash, but AJ and Gus are not on the level that these guys are on. Don't get me wrong, you have one of the best, if not the best defense's in the league, but your O-line needs to be patched up and one of your QB's really has to step up and take a leadership role on the team.

we need a franchise qb and that comes form the 06 draft.

people need patience.

saban needs at least 2-3 years to turn this around.

expect a bad season this season.

^^ umm before those seasons those QBs were not considered quality QBs... warner came in as a nobody and took over for the starter and won... delhomme was also a nobody as was brady...

these are qbs that no one thought would be good and they surprised and went to superbowls... just like brees did last year, any QB can all of a sudden get it and play better, especially inexperienced QBs

but also note the panthers were 2-14, then the next year i think 7-9 or 8-8, then they went to the superbowl, it wasn't right after that 2-14 season....

i just dont see it we have a lot of holes

Look at the o-line for these QBs as well. All very solid and able to give the passer time. Our problems are mainly with the o-line.

this is the truth, games are won in the trenches, and our oline has to give us time and has to establish a running game or we'll have another long season... if we had time iether of these QBs would be fine (well maybe not gus cause he has trouble with his accuracy, but im sure hed be aight), our running game would be ****ing GREAT all if we could jsut get a consistant effort from our oline...
