Don't get me wrong. I like Cutler and he's a good QB, but seriously it took the guy one of the elite OLs and a tremendous receiving corp to be a Pro Bowl Alternate. I don't think he'd be a Pro Bowler on most other teams. He's just too much of a gunslinger.
Cutler is another Ryan Leaf in his behavior & attitude. While I'm all for confidence in a QB, what Cutler has is a huge ego, he's super arrogant and a punk. We don't need his type leading our team. In Pennington we have a class act, a guy with integrity who'll help the next in line (Henne at this point) learn the ropes as we're rebuilding and the team will be better for it in the future.
Cutler is a good QB but I'd not trade for him with the two Chad's because Henne has learned the system and still can learn from Pennington so he has a huge upside.. Also Cutler would demand more money and maybe a new contract so that heee'd cost more than both Chad's together..
Very interesting idea but I think I would say no, Cutler not worth both Chads.
I really liked him coming out of Vandy and he's clearly demonstrated some skillz but we've seen too much attitude and off-the-field issues from Cutler for my liking.
I would do the trade in a heartbeat. Cutler won 8 games by himself, and none of you would like to work for a boss that lied to you. He's a lot better than Pennington and he's obviously much more proven than Henne.
He had 25 td passes last year.. When is the last time we had a qb throw for that many.. Our running game is also a lot better than denver's. So i would still make the trade.
