I just don't understand why some people are in love with Ted Ginn Jr. as a WR prospect and possible #9 pick. I watched a lot of Ohio St. games, and yes, Ginn was explosive, but that was against college talent. Yes, he has special talent with the ball in his hands, but will he be able to get the ball in the NFL? Chris Chambers has a lot of athleticism too, but it doesn't do him a lot of good when he can't get open.

My point is that the NFL is litered with wide receivers with scary speed and incredible verticle leaps, but a lot of them don't know how to get themselves open and then how to catch the ball. I just don't think Ginn is a polished receiver deserving of the #9 selection. In terms of receiver skills right now, I prefer Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, Sidney Rice, or even Ginn's teammate, Anthony Gonzalez. I don't think these guys are necessarily worthy of the #9 either, but I bet one of them will be there in the 2nd round for us, and I would be willing to bet that they are better prepared to contribute for us right away.

yeah i'd like sidney rice or dwayne bowe rice in the 2nd round if we don't get a receiver in the 1st round. if we do get a receiver in the first round then i would like to get buster davis in the 2nd.

because he's a rare athlete with rare explosion and speed and is very dangerous anytime he has the ball in his hands.

his route running isn't the best, but he has great hands, i dont know how anyone can knock him for that... but remember hes only been a WR for what 2 years now? he was recruited as a DB... and for only being a WR for that short of time he is well ahead of the game...

and his speed is reggie bush speed, and that obviously translated into NFL speed... as would ginns... and yes WRs might take some time to develop, but we wouldn't be just wasting a roster spot, hed be an electrifying return man for us and a 3rd WR option that would keep defenses honest with his deep threat...

finding ways to get him the ball in space would be so beneficial to our offense because it would keep defenses on their toes... he would alter a defenses game plan with his explosiveness by just being on the field...

why would we want a return kickoff and punt return man that could take it the distance at any time. why would we want a receiver that could take a quick hitch and take it the distance at any time. why why why.....

Ya that!

well i could also watch devin hester and wish he was on my team, but that doesn't necessarily mean i would spend my #9 overall pick on him.

If he got my 6 TDs I would, that's like a third of our total scoring this year. No, I wouldn't spend a #9 pick on Hester, but if Hester had the potential to do the same things he does on Special Teams on Offense...Ya I would do it. Ginn gives you big play threat 2 of 3 phases of the game.

Finally!.... thank you!!!! Watching the USC vs Mich game, announcers mentioned that Keyshawn Johnson thought Jarrett should stay in school, for the fact that he didn't seem physical enough just yet for the NFL game....which could be the case for Ginn.
I feel good enough about Chambers, Booker, Welker, and Hagan to be able to pass up on Ginn at #9

Completely agree with what you said. I just have a problem spending the 9th pick in the draft on a career KR/PR/3rd WR. Ginn isnt that #1 dominating WR that we desperately need. He is an expensive Wes Welker.
