Sparano > Fisher. Fisher is nothing special. He got lucky one year and made it to the Super Bowl just to lose. Other than that hes had plenty of years of mediocrity. How did the Dolphins get dissed? I really think we threw Fishers name out there to draw interest from other candidates and/or force a team to throw mad cash at him when we weren't going to sign him all along. These other 'young Shula' candidates imo would have a greater impact than he would. I can name atleast 3 coaches right now that I would prefer over fisher that are available. Chud, Carmichael and Marty. STL got ripped off, Miami is the smarter team. We didn't give in to his demands, and out of 32 NFL teams only STL and us interviewed him. Doesn't sound like he struck alot of interest around the league. Sounds to me that STL signed him out of desperation. Congrats to Mr Ross for playing hardball with STL and Fisher. I just read also that we interviewed Zimmer as well. All this talk about how we are 'just now continuing interviews' is bs. We've interviewed atleast 2-3 coaches after Fisher interviewed. Media is distorting all of this and giving our Dolphins a bad rep in the eyes of the fans which. IMO STL should be the one catching flak for signing an average coach and giving him complete control over a franchise. I like this move by Ross and the phins, and in the long run im sure we will come out in better shape than STL.

fisher wouldnt have been a huge upgrade like somemany people think. it would have been more years of 7-9 8-8. no thanks

The media knows they'll draw attention of whiny Dolphin fans so they report more dirt on the team. It's really not as bad as people are making it out to be. Ross and Ireland have done nothing wrong yet this off season.

The whole thing is all about Harbaugh and what took place last year. They (the media) have a narrative that Ross is a knucklehead and they will not let go of it, because it sells papers so to speak. It's their job. Reporting is no longer the job, the job is to get the fan base stired up so they generate more $ for their news sources.

However I have to say, Ross sure makes it easy for them. I have no idea how he's a billionaire. On second thought, it does make sense.
