Why are they letting Yeremiah Bell walk?

Why are they letting Yeremiah Bell walk?

This I don't get why Yeremiah Bell, all he did was make plays last year.

Can someone explain this to me?
 
Yeah I'm not sure where you herd this. The latest news on Bell was that we tendered him so now some one has to sign an offer sheet on him. If someone does sign him away I believe we get a 3rd rounder. (If someone can correct me there, please do.) If we lose him for a pick, what's wrong with that? We still have Renaldo Hill and Jason Allen as safties and we are just stock piling picks. It's about time this team starts building through the draft. I love what Cam and Randy are doing.
 
bell did make plays, but he is a liability in coverage. i would keep him as the starting SS for now, but i would be looking to draft a SS in the late rounds.

i hope he comes back and improves next year, but he got burned 'sammy knight' style a lot of times last year.
 
Well I Guess i shouldn't have said walk, I meant to say why has he been tendered so cheaply. A third for him? He is as good as gone...
 
True he got burnt but then all DBs CBs and Ss get burnt from time to time it is the nature of the position. And I seem to remember that he only played half the year, he will improve given more playing time...
 
Did you watch the Jets game on Christmas? I hate blaming a loss on one person, but Yerimiah gave up a big TD and another huge play that lead to a FG.
 
i am actually a big fan of bell, and i wouldnt mind seeing him as our ss for the next few years, IF(BIG IF) he improves in coverage.

in madden i use jason allen as FS and bell as SS and they are as good a safety tandem as it gets.

i really dont see anyone giving up a 3rd for bell, since the safeties are so deep in the draft this year.

It was a second round tender, not a third. Also, they can match any offer made to Bell.

The thing that bothers me is his inconsistancy. And you were right, he does have some big coverage problems at time. He seems to play better when dropped into a cover two where he can read the QB and makes breaks on the ball. But he is just as inconsistant as Chambers in terms of performances. One game he'll be all over the place and lights out (Chicago game) and the next he'll get torched (New York game.) I hope he stays, but if we get a 2nd rounder, I'll be very pleased.
 
Is he worth another team giving up a third round pick for? Does anyone seem like they're going to?

Cus Laron Landry would solve any Safety issues? Just a thought. Frank Merriweather? Another draft pick in our midst?


I am making a prediction: We will end up with 10 or maybe more draft picks on draft day.

cpu, bad job of defending your point bro... we have given nothing away here and as "yet" haven't let him walk.... again, even if we do, we get a two in return.
