I'm seeing stuff all over the place talking about how the Dolphins are such are disappointment and blah, blah, blah. Has the media not noticed that the Steelers have also only won 1 game!! They are the defending SuperBowl Champs how are they not being criticized all over the place?? I would think it would be much bigger news that the Steelers are 1-3 than the Dolphins are 1-4. Not to mention the Bucs who made the playoffs last year haven't won a game. I know that the Fins are not looking good, but why all the media attention for us playing bad and not these other teams. Ben Rothlisburger hasn't thrown a TD pass all year long and he isn't being blasted by the media every day like Culpepper has been.
 
I know but that is different because they won the SB last year.
 
i think part of it is the media is are sick of hearing that the fins are going to be a great team and they never are.

'02 and '03 there was talk of super bowl...no playoffs

'06 talk of super bowl...
 
What's also funny is that Big Ben has had a worse season than CPEP and no one is talking about benching him...TD -0- INT 7....wow. If he played in game 1 we probably would have beat the Steelers in Pitt...seriously.

Because Saban bullied the press early in his tenure and has cut off their traditional access. When he got some results, they backed off. Now, they smell blood and are going to gun for him.
 
on ESPN radio today, they said that there were many pundits who said that Pittsburgh would experience a drop off, that's why the Dolphins get the nod for most disappointing.
 
WHY???? Because we were this year's sexy pick to go to the SB.....SI said we would be there....now everyone is saying we are the most disappointing team in the NFL. :mad:
 
I think it may have something to do with the strength of oppent we lost to in comparisson to the steelers. We have losses to the texans, bills, patriots and steelers. While the Steelers have lost to jacksonville, cincy, and san deigo.
 
I'm VERY disappointed in this team so if there are people saying that we are the most disappointing I'm not going to let that bother me. Maybe, for the moment, they are right. That perception changes very fast when we start winning games. Remember, the most important stat is final score and in 4 out of our 5 games we were on the losing side and that simply speaks for itself. We need to right the ship starting this week vs. the Jets who just got totally hammered. We need to get up on them early and keep our foot on their throats, play smart, protect the football and get the W. Then we'll be less disappointing. Then we string together some wins and with some luck get out of this season on the right track. Hey, we can still sneak into the playoffs but we've got to stop pounding nails into our own coffin! I just want to destroy the Jets in front of there home crowd.That's the focus for this week.

The thing is, its the MEDIA that creates this.. THEY hype us up to be SB champs, then when we dont live up, they feel burned and tear us down like no other.

yeah, good point. It's their knee-jerk reaction to their original knee-jerk reaction. That said, Pitt has only 1 real WR, and the loss of their power running game. Theoretically, we supposedly added talent and depth -- not to mention high-priced coaching.
In the end I can't fault the criticism. We've played the softest 1st Q schedule than any team in the NFL and are 1-4, and very lucky not to be 0-5. Whatever they want to throw at us, we have to take it because this performance, so far, has been pathetic -- even more pathetic than the steelers.
