When I saw A.J. Feeley in the Chicago game I realized why do we keep this guy, ferrotte could do it this year and Rosenfel and Berlin did much better, so why don't we cut Feeley and save money to sign Ronnie Brown and maybe get a primetime cornerback. what do you think?

Wow, first post is quite the softball. I won't hit it though. Just keep in mind that there's a blatant reason Sage and Brock are competing for the #3 spot and not backup spot. There's also something called a salary cap.

:welcome:

Believe it or not, we do need to keep Feeley to see what he has in this new system. If you did watch Feeley close in the game, then you will see that Feeley didn't do as bad as people are saying.

I hope you didn't just register here to post this...What excatly has AJ done wrong in the preseason game besides having Thompson not helping him and running for his life?

Oh and WELCOME by the way....

Well I actually don't think he did worse than Sage, or Brock, but I think I read somewhere that his cap hit would be substantial NEXT season, so if he doesn't become a quality starter for Miami THIS YEAR, then you could expect him to be gone next season

I think you should have read the 500 other threads already created on this subject.... there you would find our answers to your questions.

He'll at least be an okay back-up and with this o-line as dicey as it has been you need that. The Bears would like to have him right now I bet. He prolly has more upside than Gus at this point too. We did overpay for him but that's in the past.

A.J didn't get much help from the line or his wideout (Thompson) but he still looks like nothing more then average to me.

despite the fact that aj actually did play well, sage and berlin were facing third stringers. Also with frerotte being 34 don't you think it would be unwise to cut feeley??

Plus, i think we need to see AJ in for more than a quarter.

Trade AJ for a 5 or 6 round choice and pick up Jeff George at the minimum

You will find some posters that feel AJ is a no-talent bum with no chance of ever developing, and some that would find an excuse for virtually any mistake he makes. Fortunately, most of us are somewhere in the middle- willing to give him an opportunity to prove himself one way are the other. But his time is running out.

He's better than atleast 2 other QB's on the roster.

Thats right. This is a make or break year for AJ.If he doesnt prove he is starting QB material he will be gone next year.

In this scenario Gus will be kept as a starter and we will either draft a QB or acquire one in FA.

We dont have a good Capologist(Not Saban or Muller) he would have to be cut so we can get a better Salary Cap guy, so getting a QB in FA is a long shot to me.
