[h=1]Dan Connolly[/h]is a no brainer for me --- we have the cap space -- huge need -- plays all 3 interior line positions - fits our scheme - is a patriot

ummm --- i have more but im looking for some insight from others on wheres the negative - and don't tell me $$$

why sign him now? the longer you wait the more his price comes down. On top of that, no one else seems to be in a rush to sign him.

Might be too expensive right now. Im concerned that Dolphins might be penny-wise, pound-foolish here on this offensive line deficiency we have. This season is sunk if we can't block people. I don't understand how they don't see that. Nothing wrong with over-doing it fixing a hole here. We can't overpay for this. Failing to fix this will waste every dollar we spend on anything else.

I mean, we CAN overspend on this problem. It wont' be a 'waste' to overspend here. We gotta kill this fly with a sledgehammer.

Sweet but are we paying for his name here or does the present day Connolly provide us with a quality starter?

not sure what you have been reading --- i see 4 to 5 teams including pats want him

At worse he's solid - he brings leadership and a winning attitude - he plays all 3 interior line spots -

and our guards needs to be addressed --- "iamtiv" i agree with you 100%

draft a stud wr and see how that goes when your QB is on his back

I would ask "If 4 or 5 teams want Connolly and Miami is making a mistake by not scooping him up now at his current asking price, why are the other teams also not rushing to sign him."

Depending on which sites you use to rate play in the NFL Connolly had a very poor year at guard. I'd be willing to bet there is something healthwise that is keeping him from signing with a team. He might be better than what Miami currently has on the roster at guard but keep in mind that doesn't take much.

32 year old guard.. Hmm, i'd bet he will get signed after the draft by someone. Why sign him now?
