While Green Bay has its faults, they've had Brett Favre for more then 10 years. The reason "experts" pick them to do well is all b/c of Favre.

Philadelphia with McNabb
Denver when it had Elway
Miami with Marino
Atlanta with Vick
St Louis with Bulger
Seattle with Hasselbeck

Just to name a few. These teams are chosen to do well b/c they have good QBs. I was too young when Danny played, so I'm missing out twice as hard!

I'm sure we'll get the right guy sooner rather than later. I mean our franchise has been pretty lucky in regard to the QB postion. We had Marino and Griese for 30 out of our franchises 40 year history. Morrall and Strock were pretty good backups and Woodley had a good year.

But we've suffered since Danny. Will it ever end? It's madness! :goof:

Yeah I'm sure it will. You're always going to have some down time after a HOFer retires if your trying to replace him with a guy who has that kind of potential. Like I said we've just been lucky until recently. Look at a team like the Lions or the Bears, have ALWAYS been trying to find a QB(maybe they have now).

I'm 24 too, and I remember ever Dan Marino TD!

Atalnta can keep Vick
all he can do is run Gus probably can throw better than him Not as far as Speed but Accuracy

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I remember most. Considering the Colts sucked all those year and every home game that was blacked out they showed Fins games here.:) Of course the one Indy home game that was never blacked out was the ones against the Fins, but I have been to evey one of those since I was 7. Damn AFC south.

To do that we have to start actually drafting some quarterbacks, something that really wasn't done during the entire Johnson/Wannstedt era(please don't bring up Josh Huepel or the other slug or two we brought in as training camp fodder), we also didn't do it in Saban's first draft, I'll give him a one year pass but I'd better see a QB get drafted next year.

I would take Vick in a second. He's certainly better than the current QB's we have. You can't teach the athletic ability he has. But good coaches can make him become a great QB, not just an athlete.

Well we dont really need a quarterback just a player that can avoid the sack so Vick would be perfect LOL

Oh I COMPLETELY AGREE. I was really hoping for one this this year. Say Charlie Frye, Orton, Walters anyone really. I do think Saban will adress it in next years draft though.

That just shows how important it is to have a franchise quarterback. The thing is they are hard to find. There may be 5-7 in the NFL right now with Manning, Brady, Culpepper, and McNabb at the top. Vick has the potential to get into that group, but that's about it. That's why teams give up so much and gamble so often on potential franchise quarterbacks. You can win without them, but you've got to have an amazing defense and a top notch running game to have a chance.
