Everyone has been talking about CUTTING him. Why? Why don't we trade him and get a pretty good draft pick? The guy is a perennial Pro Bowler, and doesn't have a large salary. I think we could get a 2nd or 3rd for him, frankly.

So whats the deal?

Cause he's old? That's a good question.

There is no way we could get a 2nd round pick for Marion. That's crazy. He's not playing on a Pro Bowl level anymore.

He's had 18 INT's and 4 FF's over the past four years. He's had over 60 tackles every year in those four years.

Last year he still had 3 INT's and 2 FF's. This on a defense where everyone on the defense is top calibur making plays. If he went to a team with a weak roster defensively, he would shine far more than he does here.

He's still very good regardless of what anyone says, and good safeties are hard to come by.

Uhh, we're talking about a guy who turns 34 in June.

We probably wouldn't get a first day pick if we traded Marion. I think we could get a fourth rounder for him. He is obviously worth more than that, but because of his age we would not get a good draft pick if we traded him.

Nevermind, Gonk. After the Janet Jackson titty shots you pulled, you're right in any threads! Hell, Brock could get us a top 5 pick if you say. :D

Haha, I thought you guys would've appreciated those photos.

At best, you would get a late conditional pick.

Trade at any time or release before June 1st have same cap implications

he's starting based on respect he has built around the league. safeties have no trade value because it's not considered a priority position i.e. they for the most part a dime a dozen, so a late round pick would be the best they could do for brock.
