We have been lacking a red zone receiver for the past few seasons. Chambers has had his problems but touchdowns have never been one. In the redzone he is one of the best WRs in football. He is listed at 5'11 but because of his vert. he plays like a 6'4 receiver at times. We wouldnt need him to be our #1 all we would need is for him to contribute in the red zone and bail out Henne sometimes.

Why he can't?

He is the same Chris Chambers that has trouble getting seperation and drops many balls.

I don't know what is the fascination with our old school players. When the rams cut McMicheal, that thread will be next. Chambers was on a team with a very good, established young QB...he didn't have to be the #1 there...actually was more the #4 receiving outlet for Rivers, he couldn't hack it there.

Can we please move on and develop the guys we have here that can't get seperation or catch?

You are kidding here right? Please tell me you are. Right, SD. just cut one of the best red zone recievers in football. This is what you want us to believe? Getting rid of that bum was the only good thing Cam Cam Moron did while he was here. How many td's does he have this year?

Your kidding, right???? Jay Feidler???

You know what, I was just as tired of Chambers antics as every one else. Dropping easy passes, not fighting for the ball. The thing is unless the wheels have just completely come off for this guy, bring him back. At least bring him in for a look. We need help at reciever in the worst way and after he clears waivers today, which I expect he will, bring him back cheap for the rest of the year. If he doesn't produce we can always cut him in a couple of weeks as well. If he has any skills left at all it would help Ginn out and our running game.

Where is the down side in this?

Sadly, CC is no longer that WR that will make the spectacular catches and a potential number 1. If we were to bring him in, I'd say it would be as a mentor to the young WRs.

I understand he is not the same guy, but I still want to know how it hurts us at this point when we know that we are severly hurting at receiver. Once again, if it doesn't work we can cut him too. To do nothing, when it wouldn't cost us a draft pick doesn't make sense. At least bring him in for a look.

He's heavier, slower, still hasn't stopped dropping passes, oh...and we dont have wanny running the offense anymore....so its not like he's just jumping in and riding his old bike again.

How will he help us right now again?

Bringing in Chambers will only make it that much harder for Patrick Turner to see the field. I'd rather start prepping the young guy.

How much weight has he put on? I haven't watched him since he went to SD but I haven't heard that he was that bad last year. He does seem to have faded away this year but SD has a bunch of young recievers. Have you seen much of him?

hefty price tag for a guy that may not be able to make much of an impact here anymore. that said, we have nothing in the way of receivers right now, nothing. our one dimensional offense will eventually be victimized if we can't balance things out.

You haven't seen much, but you post that we could use him and take away time from one of our young guys?

He's slower than what you remember,....and he still drops passes. Have you heard anything about him since he's been in SD? He still can't be a factor when he's the 4th guy defenses are worrying about when he hits the field. Oh and that excuse of him not having a decent WR was gone since you last remembered.

Time to move on.......
