he wanted to go back to his roots in college he had that number.

Makes sense...I thought maybe 11 was retired or something....wonder why he did not do 8 in Minn to begin with....I think it was available...I know he was drafted 11 overall...but wonder why not go 8 from the get go...

Thanks for the quick reply.

Its because when Culpepper was acquired, Gus was still on our roster. That was number 11. His number was 8 in college, and he wants a new start anyway. So yeah.

Todd Bouman was 8 when Daunte got to Minnesota and wouldn't give it up. Daunte was #12 his rookie year when he sat the bench, then switched to #11 his 2nd year. I think his preference has always been for #8.

He said he took the number of ligs he tore, 3 and minused it off his
old number and that gave him his new number, 8 !

yeah daunte offered bouman somewhere around 100,000 dollars for the number 8, but bouman, being the star he became(jokin) wouldnt give it up. daunte was number 12 his rookie season, then switched to 11 because he was the 11th overall pick in the 99 nfl draft. 8 is of course his vangaurd highschool number, and his UCF number

No...but they are thinking about retiring number 7. Something about they don't want anyone coming in and trying to follow in Feeley's footsteps.

DC was number 8 in college which happend to be in his home state florida and now that hes back the number 8 comes with it, I think its pretty cool and anyways the last #11 we had wasnt much to talk about.
