I found a pretty good quote from Lorenzo Booker about last year....

"I came to practice every day, and I would line up at receiver, running back, whatever," Booker said. "I take not playing as a challenge, in terms of 'Oh, well you must think I'm not good enough. Well, let me show you I'm good enough.'
"But when you show somebody over and over and over ... I mean, Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor were like, 'Why aren't you playing?' These guys are future hall-of-famers, and they're wondering why I'm not playing."

I'm not upset that we traded him because he doesn't really fit with what BP and co. are putting together here. Philly is definately his style of offense. But the lack of playing time he got with Cameron's offense only goes to show how useless Cam really was. Maybe if he got more touches we would have won more than 1 damn game. Im happy for the kid and hope he does real well in Philly. And thank god Cam got canned! :hi5:

honestly he was one of the payers i was really looking forward to watch play this year. I realized since BP was coming in and he was not gonna get to many carries. I also realized he is not a every down player. Would of been nice to him play a lil wide out and hb this season though. I think i might pick him in a fantasy draft in about 2 years

I still believe Cam would have turned out to be a decent coach for us. Remember guys, it was his first year as Head Coach. Maybe he was just trying to find out what works and what doesn't. I don't have any hard feelings against him, he was a rookie coach. Would have been curios to see if he could adjust in his 2nd year and learn from his mistakes.

Having said that, I'm excited to see this year's team with the new coach. But, just like Cam, Sparano is a rookie Head Coach. Keep that in mind.

I think as far as rookie coaches Sparano has the advantage over Cam. First of all he's smart enough to know he can't be a head coach and try to call his own plays at the same time. Veteran coaches have said it's quite difficult. I think that was just ignorance on Cam's part. Second, Sparano has a great mentor in BP. Say what you will about the man, he knows how to win. He can pick his brain inbetween games. A luxury few coaches have. To me last season seemed like Club Cam in Davie. So many injuries had to be tied into a lack of strength and conditioning. I don;t think the guy had any control over anything that was going on last year. He floundered pretty badly there toward the end. I don't think Sparano will have that issue. BP should be able to keep him grounded and guide him. IMO the hiring of BP was the first step this franchise has taken in the right direction in a long time.

I see where your coming from but you have to understand, he wasnt making "first time head coach" mistakes, he was making mistakes that even you or I would have known better not to do. I mean calling a timeout after an incomplete pass, come on, all you need to know are the rules of the game to know there is no need for that. Thats a mistake pop warner kids know not to make. He was bad, really bad, not head coaching material

I am of the opinion that you can go 1-15 as a first year head coach (Jimmy J.) if you do it as a hard a@@. If you are a softy (Cam) and go 1-15...BYE!

I will admit, though, that the ultra-short leash that they are giving new regimes doesn't work. If you have a fire sale and implement an entirely new system, you are not gonna have immediate success, even if you are a good coach. (Which, albeit, cam was not.) You have to take two steps back before taking 3 steps forward; however, I think that we could all see that the steps forward were probably not to be.

Cam IMO would have been a great OC for us. Ronnie was looking great in that system .

Agreed. That being said I do like what Dan Hennig is going to bring in here. Smash Mouth football and the play-action pass. Can't wait to see it.

hello brother veteran
Cam was fired because he didn't have the experience to deal as Head Coach in the NFL & the Dolphins were deceitfully bad. everyone still had expectations of them winning. put it together = fired

Cam has only himself to blame for being fired. He did it his way. He pushed to bring in washed up trent Green as his starter, he decided another linebacker was more important than a lineman. He decided our biggest need in the draft was a wide receiver when we had much bigger needs. He decided on fail fast approach. He decided he did not need a coordinator. Good riddance he was an idiot, he tryed to act like he knew so much more than the rest of the league and ultimately made a not so good team worse.

Cam is not head coach material. If BP didn't come, we would have had a similar result this year bc IMO he would have stayed another year. From the draft on, he was a deer in the headlights. Booker is just explaining what we knew already. It's just surprising that even the guys he drafted, he didn't know what to do with... See Ginn, Booker

i was upset when they traded him, but got over it pretty quick. cam was a horrible leader, thats why the bum got the boot.

Thank God there is someone in the FO who knows something about football now. We have had a procession of good assistants masquerading as head coaches in here ever since JJ retired. One exception that traitor little Hitler Saban. Wanny should be a DC, that is what he is good at. Cam should be an OC, that is what he is good at. There are many good assistants in this league who just don't make good head coaches. Cam as a head coach lost all respect from his players and then lost any control of them. A very poor leader. Good ridance to him.

On a side note, I can't wait to see our offense pounding other teams early in the season and the heat finishing them off. This team is finally getting set up to win early AND late in the season.

One of my biggest complaints on Cameron was the offseason conditioning. He ran a program that was way too soft. Players were getting injured. Players were too tired at the end of games.

It's not like he's new to football. Is there really any excuse for that? If you're players aren't in tip top shape, they're not going to win.

why did Cam get canned? :rotfl1:
In part because his players didnt respect him. What about when Joey Porter basically called him a sissy in front of the entire team. Plus he had no real plan, he was winging it. Relied on his "Statue of Liberty"play. Because he was a bad coach with bad personell moves.....for starting John Beck in Philly instead of the previous week at home vs Buggalo. For the whole we drafted a great Kick Returner statement. and most of all for going 1-15
