At this point, it mades no sense. I was a big AJ supporter, I didn't see the last PS game, but based on stats and you guys report, AJ can't handle pressure, so he can't can't handle tight games situations. Sage has played as well as AJ and Gus, Sage is as old as AJ, it doesn't make sense to keep 2 of the same as backups, At this point, unless it's a business decision, we should cut AJ, pick up some of the QB's who did well for other teams but got caught in the numbers game and see if we can groom a young guy now. While he's here this year, we can see if he has anything in practice, if not, find the one in next year's draft. I just hate to start over next year with new unproven guy without any NFL experience, at least a young gun this year may have sometime, plus he's got a PS in the NFL under his belt and a whole year of practices and studying and watching before next offseason. In the mean time, I hope Gus gets his timing down, because our WR's have consistently beat DB's down the field, if he hits those we will score, score, score.

because they dont have another third QB lined up yet.

btw, Sage is actually a year younger, and has outplayed both AJ and Gus.

There are quite a few QBs that fit in with the third job that got released today, such as JT O'Sullivan, Jeff Smoker, etc

I think we're going to sign another QB and keep AJ on the roster up until then. I think we are targeting Couch and once he is signed, AJ is gone. Should we not sign anyone else, AJ isn't going to cost us much this year but he'll be released after the season. There is also the possibility we kept him to try to trade and grab a late round pick for him.

JT S. got release, we should defintely look at him, he had a good PS..I liked what I saw in him.

They may be trying to trade him. If they cant, then he'll get cut and we will pick up another QB.

with his contract AJ is 100% untradeable

It should happen soon, just have to find who we want in FA.

AJ is only costing us 540,000 this year. Next year its 3.5 million. So we can afford him this year. But I wouldnt mind cutting him, we can always bring Brock Berlin back to be a 3rd stringer. He even looked better than Feeley did.

That is kinda what I was thinking. If we sign Couch, Davey or whomever, then AJ will be let go. They may also still be working on a trade, that could be why the didnt cut him. They could have an agreement in place for Couch or Davey but are waiting to see if the trade could be worked out, if not then they sign this qb and cut AJ.

I agree with you and I can't imagine the Saban is afraid of any fallout resulting from the waste of a 2nd round pick on a guy that gets cut a year later because he didn't make the move. Puzzling to me.

Glad to see you've turned against AJ for now MD, lol. It's too bad Gus really sucks too. Sage is an unknown...odds VERY much against him being a good QB but I mean better the unknown at this point than the known guys that suck...

Saban dumped Gordon without a thought of the third rounder..so that is definitely not it

Oh I didn't turn against him, but if he's not going to play, then I think the writings on the wall for new blood, so I'm thinking why not start now.
