Why did we pick up a #2 QB...

I think we've seen from Gus this season exactly what Minnesota already knew about him. He's very inconsistent. He can make a big play once in a while. He also doesn't throw the game away with horrible decisions. He is not very accurate but has a big arm and can throw it down the field to score quick sometimes. Overall as a #1 QB HE SUCKS. but he makes a good #2 backup that can come in when you already have a lead and not give the game away.

Minnesota already knew this about him! why the hell did we trade for him and make him a starter ????? he is not starter material!
 
Why Cant You Do Some Research And Realize We Didnt Trade For Him Or Pay Crap For Him In Salary

Because his buddy Scott "I want to marry Gus" Linehan forced Saban to take him, or he wouldn't take the Fins job as OC.
 
At that time we wanted Feely to be our starter and needed atleast another person with solid experience to come in and challange or back up feely.
 
Who the hell else would be avaliable that would fit the situation we were in. Sorry to say it, but he was and is our best option for this season.
There are just as many parts of this team that deserves blame, not just Gus.

because he was picked up to be AJ's backup, but AJ sucked so he became the starter.
 
Sage is playing pretty good now he'll be our starter next week probobly :cool:

Thats a good question and i have a good answer. we were desperate and made a terible mistake.

I don't know about forced, but I'm sure endorsed.

And I think Saban is unhappy with Linehan because of it.

No way. He shouldn't have been an option at all. There was absolutely nothing to be gained playing Gus. He is neither good, nor mistake-free/caretaker.

There were better veteran options, obviously, since other teams got them. (Even, though who woulda thunk it, Bledsoe).

But more importantly, we did the exact same thing we got all up on Wannestadt for... we went into training camp splitting time, having a qb battle. It didn't work then and it didn't work now. All it ensured was that whoever got it had less time to train.

Feeley or Sage should have been given the job in camp and hung out to see what they could do this season. Every game Gus started was a waste in QB evaluation.
 
You can't fault Gus for his play today. He had no time to throw the ball. Our O-line didn't do anything for him. They sure did change it up when Sage came into the game.
