i am not trying to criticize the front office but I am a little confused why we drafted Ronnie Brown instead of Braylon Edwards. We were already very deep at the running back position. We could have gotten a great wide receiver. We dont really have that. We have good but not great receivers. Another thing is we had enough quality backs already. We had lamar gordan, sammy morris, K-Jay Harris, and knew that Ricky Williams was coming back. I am just curious to know why we went with Ronnie instead of Edwards. If we wanted a runningback we could have gotten a quality back in the later rounds of the draft. Im not trying to cause a controversy here. I just have been wondering the same thing since draft day.

I think they felt Chris Chambers is a better reciever than Sammy Morris is as a runningback

Do you really want to be COUNTING on Ricky Williams? I mean having him back is one thing, COUNTING on him is another.

Very deep at running back, lmao, that's a good one, Ricky hadn't even come back yet so we had to go with Ronnie

im not saying that sammy morris is a better player than chambers. I just think that edwards was the higher rated player coming out. Also we basically had ricky(although he didnt come back till a little later), gordan, and morris.

Simply put, Saban Thought Ronnie was the BPA... plain and simple...

I seriously thought all this "Ronnie is a bust" talk is just frustration letting out... you guys can't be serious... after only 2 games and 5 weeks knowing the system...

Come on guys.

first, the Dolphins did NOT have any solid inkling that Ricky would be back at all, so that's false...

second, the Dolphins did NOT have KJ Harris before the draft, so that's false...

third, neither Sammy Morris nor Lamar Gordon are quality starters.. so that's false...

other than that, your concern about drafting Ronnie Brown is flawless...

im not saying that i think Ronnie will be a bust. I actually think that he will be a good player once we get an offensive line. But I thought braylon was rated higher. Thats all i guess.

Ricky didn't announce his comback till after the draft. It was a sound pick at the time, and Brown will be a good player, just give him some time to adjust.

If he didn't come back until later, we didn't have him. Look how well Gordon performed in the preseason - good enough to get himself cut even though he cost a 3rd round pick this year. So at the time, we had Gordon (who ended up getting cut), Morris and Minor. Basically the same unproductive group from last year.

It's also easier for a RB to make an impact early on. Typically it takes WR's at least a full season to become productive players.

My thoughts exactly, Woukld you really want another 4-12 or a worse season?

thanks guys for your intelligent responces. I kind of scratched my head when we selected a runningback because I was unsure that we needed one. Morris was coming of a solid season behind a terrible offensive line but I guess the coaches thought the position needed to be upgraded more. I have to admit thought that we have one of the deepest runningback positions in the league. Once Ronnie comes full swing and ricky does what he always does, our team will be hard to beat.

listen.. bottom line CHILLL out.. with the ronnie is a bust... i dont wanna hear that anymore.. until at least after 1 full season...

we had no running game and on paper we were deep at WR.

chambers, booker, (not sure if we had boston), thompson, welker, gilmore looked a hell of a lot better than morris, gordon, minor.
