Besides the 2 players this year we let go of, i am thinking more about CB. We should have 2 decent CB's on the team that we drafted. Davis and Sean Smith are still very good players we got rid of. We shouldn't be in this position if our coaches knew how to coach and our front office knew how to keep our own talent. Just my thoughts

this team will be forever ********...we made the deal with satan for an undefeated season and the best QB (marino) to ever play the game. we are not in permanent hell.

The team is poorly managed

the GM & VP are only watching out for themselves.

Those players should have been resigned a year ago...

Suh should NEVER have been brought here....

RT should have had to WORK for his extension...

Hue Jackson or Mike Tannenbaum should have been the new coach

Hickey should still be the GM

t-bomb should be negotiating contracts for NBA coaches & players

It seems we did make a deal with the devil. Now lets make another one. We have nothing else to lose. Satan cant make us any worse. lol

I honestly put the blame for this on the coaches. It's their job to see the talent around them and tell the FO, "Hey, this guy is GOOD. You should try to lock him up long term." Philbin and his minions were horrendous at this, staring at players with mouths agape and completely unsure who was worth depending on and who wasn't. Even worse, the players who DID show moments of brilliance, like Lamar Miller, were immediately sent to the bench for reasons that only Yahweh knows.

I think over the past 3 years, I have typed no less than 500 times that this team's biggest issue is a "talent evaluation" one. I'm hoping Gase and his coaches are better about recognizing who is doing well for this team and support those players. -And by support, I mean "$upport".

Come on... OV and Miller didn't want to be here. They offered them 5 (miller) and 12 (OV) per season which in florida is more money. Their agents know that and expressed that to them. They just wanted to leave, unless we made them the highest paid players at their positions of all time. we weren't letting 2 players drafted by Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin hold us by the gonads who have barely snuffed 10 sacks or 1000 yards in a season.

They were ALL EXPECTING extensions a year ago.

Grass is always greener on the other side. Miller's 85 and 99 yard touchdown runs grow on trees. It was his fault our offense was so terrible this year that he'd get 5 touches some games.

Thats the whole issue. Everyone wants to build through the draft but we refuse to retain anyone past their first contract. Its absurd. Thats the whole point of drafting your own guys, to extend them before they hit FA.

Whew...
I understand why Rishard Matthews was allowed to walk. Contracts for Davonte parker and Jarvis Landry will be upcoming in 2-3 years; a long extension for Matthews makes 3 highly paid WR's, probably too much. Though I think this could have worked out, I get it.
Vernon should have been extended last year probably, but no way was he worth what he got. Wanted to keep him, but that contract is a cap buster.
Suh should not have been signed.
I don't understand why no attempt at all was made for Shelby.
Lamar Miller makes me angry to see on another team. Very angry. But he was overpaid too. But if our team's goal is to draft and keep our own, build through the draft, when does that start? With this year's draft? Why wasn't Dallas Thomas cut to create a million dollars in cap space? How much is Jamar Taylor's contract? I am starting to see where this FO is headed with their moves, but they seem to be stumbling there on their way. If they had just gotten a better deal in the trade with Philly and re-signed Miller I would feel night and day better. But as it stands, my confidence is at an all time low and I see no reason, at least this coming season, to re-new that expensive NFL Sunday ticket just to watch this suck-ass product lose ten times.

Miller goes for 1400+ and 12+TDs for the Texans. Mark it. You're gonna fault Miller for his yardage totals the last two years after seeing the way he was used? Do you even watch the games? His 4.6 career ypc isn't enough for you? I guess you weren't a dolphin fan from about 1980-2000 when we couldn't find a RB with better than 3.3 ypc to save our lives (or Dan's life).

Don't be an ignoramus and lump in Miller with OV just because they hit FA the same year. What's the difference to you if we spend an extra 1.0% of our salary cap to retain Miller. 5 mil is a bargain but 6.5 is ludacrous?

Yawn! Another pointless thread crying about what's being talked about in other threads. They are gone and no longer Dolphins we should turn our attention to our new and potential new pieces.

So how much winning did the Dolphins do with Vernon, Matthews and Miller? None.

The Dolphins major weaknesses are the OL and the defensive back 7. That's where the money needs to be spent. At least the FO is trying to shore up those areas ahead of the draft rather than overpaying their own players. Plus, the Dolphins will receive compensatory draft picks.

I hope it works out. The Dolphins are definitely allocating their resources to the right positions.

For Odrick last year, OV and Miller this year, they weren't good enough to pay the money they command in FA. Let them walk.
