Why does Directv hold the NFL Games hostage?

b/c having sunday ticket is a HUGE reason why directv has subscribers. they are willing to pay a high cost for exclusive rights to keep them exclusive. Digital cable is better than satelite imo so the only reason ppl have directv is nfl sunday ticket. giving it up would be losing a huge percentage of market share .

I would never want cable, digital or otherwise. I would have Direct TV over cable any day, even if they didn't have Sunday Ticket. If something ever happened and DTV lost ST, it would be a very hard decision for me to follow ST.

I have had DTV for over 12 years and my parents had it when I moved out so it's more like 16 years and I have never had anything to complain about.

Its monopoly pricing & everyone squeezes every drop of blood out of the fan they can ... especially NFL Owners. Of course players, networks, etc. love to do the same, just that the owners are on top of the heap.

TV contracts are expected to sky rocket ... that's the purported reason the strike happened ... owners positioning themselves to slurp up a bigger piece of the pie. (Why do you think college's are jumping conferences?? ... future TV Money!!)

I noticed 60% or so backed "owners who take the risk" ... now you're complaining about high costs!! lol I support neither, only the fan ... as much as I love football, I hoped the strike would last into the season ... that's the ONLY WAY the FAN would get RELIEF!!

Oh well, just vote with your dollars. We all pay because we love it so. Would be nice for Cable & Dish to get the NFL Ticket ... probably happen some day.

I go to sports bars. I like the fun of friends & sharing knowledge .. AND having all games showing at the same time, look where they cheer!! lol ... you spend what you want, talk trash, & have FUN!! (Folks & their twisted accounting bar vs home cracks me up!!)

If you get Sunday ticket, do you also get espn and NFL Network? My current plan doesn't include them and therefore will miss some games even with Sunday Ticket
