Why is it we spend so much time debating Ginn when Bess is a guy we almost to the man can agree has the ability to catch 10+ balls a game. Bess might not have the physical attributes of some of the typical #1's but I would bet my right arm if the Dolphins would of concentrated on getting the ball to him on that last drive vs. the Colts the Dolphins would have scored. We don't need a WR that runs 4.3's and is a diva and can't catch. Give me an OJ McDuffie 3rd down ball catching machine anyday...and we have that in Bess. We could work in featuring Bess in conjuction with our grinding run game and play action. All we need are 1st downs and Bess drops nothing and has, according to both our QB's and all the coaches, an instinct that makes a QB's job easier.

I'm just saying...let's not overlook what we have while trying to manufacture things we don't have.

just my 2 cents.

Davone is a good #3, I really don't think he would be a good #1. In fact I think Ginn is a better #1 than Davone would be and I don't think Ginn is a very good #1. Davone has a good skill set for the slot, which is where he plays. I don't believe that would translate if he were split out wide.

Bess is a very good slot reciever. But he does not have the physical speed to out run you down the field. He is very quick off the line and runs crisp routes. Which is great for a slot man. I would like to see him in the slot, and possibly Ginn as a #2 or Hartline depending how he develops, could trade away Camarillio and somehow get a #1 WR like Boldin, Marshall etc. Just my thought

I'm sorry but Bess isn't making that play downfield either. Ginn may have dropped the ball but he is a far better bet to get a 30 yard td than Bess.

Because he isn't close to a #1 receiver.

I agree with most of the replies so far. Bess and Camarillo are almost prototype Slot receivers built in the Wess Welker mode. Ginn is an outside receiver either #1 or #2. In a perfect world Ginn is your speed guy opposite a true #1 receiver who would draw the Double coverage away from Gin.

Bess is the perfect slot reciever for this offense. The reason why he's not a number one wide reciever is he's not very fast, he just cant outrun people.

Bess does not have the speed or size to be a true "#1 reciever". He is a very good possession guy who runs great routes and get open underneath when you need him, but for now that's about it. At true #1 can out-run, out-jump, out-quick, out-catch, and out-smart any defender. That being said, we don't have a true #1 reciever on our roster IMO. The closest thing that we have right now is Ginn. I really hoped that Turner would turn into that guy, but he looks more like a Derek Hagan than anything else right now.

How many 3rd down catches did Ginn have against Indy? Anyone care to supply some stats? Thank you!

Because it sees so much easier to bash the fins now days instead of praising them?? No seriously I would say he would make a #2 at Best, I don't believe we have a #1 on this team yet!

Ted Ginn Jr is a #1........the #1 most hated/disrespected/unappreciated player on any team in the NFL. Makes me ashamed of the Dolfans around the world. You need to stop hating on my boy......I'm serious.

I'm seriously not diggin on Ginn, he really did make a lot of plays last week. I guess when I think #1 I think Fitzgerald, Boldin, Johnson, TO, Moss, Driver, Wayne, Holms, etc. I just can't put Ginn in that category yet, even though he is obviously our best reciever right now.

The difference between Ginn and all of the other players you listed is this......they have a QB who can hit them on a deep route.

ZING!
