Seriously, $100 million to Haynesworth after the ridiculous contract to Hall? The Patriots sign Fred Taylor and are still entertaining other FAs? Oakland can afford to sign ANY FAs? Why do some teams have to follow the cap but others don't? It's ridiculous.

I'm curious too. The Redskins were reported to be around $8 million under the cap. So they go and sign Hall and Haynesworth for 22 mil and 40 mil guaranteed. The Redskins aren't breaking the law or anything but if someone could help us understand mathematically how it's possible, would be great.

What the hell are you doing with a picture of my wife as your avatar!?!?!?!

If I am not mistaking, if you're over the cap, you get fined. Maybe Snyder pays the fines and moves on.

once the new contract is signed (nfl/players) and there is a cap next year there will be a day of recogning for these teams. you will just sit back and laugh as they have to cut players galore. be patient grasshopper.

Since 2000 the Redskins have been doing this and every year there's talk of salary cap hell with no results.

Patience ain't got a thing to do with it

Exactly.

Notice the teams that do this are the big teams in terms of 1.) Owners with money. 2.) Fan base and merchandise sales.

They simply use their massive bank accounts to pay the tax/fine placed on them for being over the cap.

I its total BS. I mean whats the point of the cap when you can pay(fine) to avoid it.

Hey man, she came up to me. She was saying something about me being able to give her things that she wasn't getting elsewhere.

I thought there was a draft pick penalty for being over the cap. Something like a 4th rd pick....

There really is a fine? I thought it would be impossible to be over the cap because the NFL has to approve every single contract? I might be wrong though......

By the way, 100 million for a football player is just ridiculous. I mean come on, that's 13.5 million per year. It's a team game and no player is worth that huge amount of money.
