i dont get it. all i hear about is how athletic he is. he played wide receiver, blah blah blah. and yet he never takes off. watching andrew luck tonite, as soon as he feels pressure he steps up and takes off. thats such a huge weapon for a qb, hes got the skills to do it, so why wont he? do the coaches tell him not to? worried about fumbles? injuries? or does he just not have the pocket awareness yet to do it?

I was watching the game to and was saying to myself if only he would of scrambled.outside the pocket on that last drive but should of could of would of

Because he doesn't feel the pressure. I believe that is the whole point that many have been making...

Personally, I am on the side of "the OL sucks" and give him a chance...

No doubt our terrible O-line is a large part of that problem as there are a ton of times the pocket collapses so quickly, he doesn't have any lanes to run for it. However, I think the coaches also have him so dedicated to being a "pocket" passer, he doesn't run when the opportunities present themselves. Leaves a large part of what could make him special out of the equation.

Our coaches believe a good quarterback is made in the pocket. Period. They are conservative, and stubborn.

All those fumbles got him scared. He needs to man up and ****in run. Matt Moore would have.

So sad the way Sherman is holding back this offense
Defenses never have to game plan in case Tannehill runs because it doesn't happen

He can not hang onto the ball thats why. How he ever played receiver is amazing

His instincts seem lacking in that regard. It's like, once he's looking downfield he's oblivious to what's immediately around him.

I think its both, the OL blows but he also fails to move around in the pocket when he has the chance more often than not. I'm not sure if this can be taught, or whether he's been coached to just stand in the pocket and completely ignore your instincts (to avoid happy feet), it's kinda hard to tell WTF is really going on because that offense is suck a ****ing mess from top to bottom
