We are standing at the door of rare stuff, knuckles poised to knock. The last three seasons the Dolphins started 3-0 were 2013, 2002 and 1998. I believe that door (creaky from lack of use) will swing open once again Sunday afternoon.

This is obviously the perfect “trap” game, expected to win, 2-0, coming off a division win, facing a division opponent next week.

This game though should tell us a lot about our team and our coach.

I believe this could have the makings of a drubbing of the Raiders. They have so much stacked against them between playing in Denver last week, flying to Miami, the defensive questions they have and I’m hoping our fans are excited down there and turn out in force.

It’s a shame the weather doesn’t appear like it will put additional pressure on the Raiders.

Im in the I don’t care mood about Raiders will be desperate- trap game- trends etc

Your at home, your 2-0 and hopefully the crowd is good and loud.

Come out, execute and win the game, give the home crowd something to get excited about ans hope if more to come like Cleveland last night.

I just posted on another thread. We've got them coming cross country at 1pm in the Miami heat. This is a game we need to win if we want to make the playoffs this year. Schedule gets a lot harder after this week.

I don't view this as a trap game; trap games are ones you take for granted as a win- I don't know that anyone is writing this one off as a win just yet. We SHOULD win, but Carr can move the ball. They are not the 2017 Browns.

This is a should-win game, considering most of the matchups favor us, we're at home, and the Raiders are in a bit of disarray and haven't quite bought into Gruden after the Mack trade.

But it's the should-win games that have often bitten us. Very few games where we really put teams away, and the first two games this season sort of continued that trend. Winning this game comfortably would take me from optimistic to believer. Pull one out the following week too and I'm a heretic.

I chalk this up as one of those games where we definetly are the better team and should win based on mathcups and personnel, but who knows. In years past we could easily lose this one. I hope that soft mental makeup is finally being washed out of this team. So far in 2 games it looks good. Lets hope it continues.

Miami wins 27-20

This will be a MUCH more difficult game than most are anticipating. If the Raiders go to 0-3, their season is over. They will come in with that mentality.

The good news is long-term poor teams progress from losing close games to barely winning. Miami is 2-0. The bad news is it's hard to consistently win close games. A number of us have said this is the game Miami usually loses - get the hope of fans up, then play like a HS team. I worry about letting the Raiders i a close game. I agree - when by 10 or more and the perception changes.
