This is by far my favorite Vernon Gholston video. It is a little corny at the beginning but it gets pretty cool. Some of the highlights are pretty sick and after watching this I hope that most of you will finally agree with me on him being the #1 pick.

For all the Jake Long lovers out there, I know a lot is made about how he only gave up one sack and that it was to Gholston. Some use this to argue against Jake Long and for Gholston, and some go the other way. But it seems to me that the more I watch that Ohio State-Michigan game this year, it seems like Jake looked completely overmatched and overwhelmed the entire time. You can see from the clips from that game that even when going against #97 Cameron Heyward, a Freshman, Long got bull rushed on more than one occasion and even put on his back from time to time.

Call me crazy, at least from this video, Gholston seems like the superior prospect.

I would be happy with either Chris or Gholston. But I think Gholston has more upside, I read he never played football until his sophomore year of high school.
 
I think when all the smoke clears, Vernon Gholston will be wearing a Dolphins uniform. The Raiders, Jets, & Patriots all want Gholston as well. I would take Gholston just so those teams can't (2 division rivals and AFC team).
 
That video also shows some nice clips of him just blowing up the run. QB pressure and run help are two huge needs for us, our D couldn't stop anybody. I think adding a great pass rusher will turn us around much quicker than Jake Long.
 
I think Gholston will have a good NFL career, but I think we have bigger needs...mainly our O-line.
 
Carey playing LT was not the reason we lost anything last season. He gave up less sacks than even Joe Thomas and was great in run blocking. A good young RT should be easy to find later in the draft.
 
I def. wouldn't be upset if we picked Gholston....he's NASTY! :up:
