Ive seen all these forum posters saying that "Oh he will want more money than Peterson got" and "His ego is too big to take less for the team... I dont wish to disrespect any of the posters who mentioned comments like that, but does anyone here have concrete evidence that Arrington has said he will want more money than Peterson got? Ive heard the Gmen are making a big push for his services, but c'mon people... until Arrington agrees to play elsewhere or Saban comes out and says NO to him, we still have a shot to get him...also, one final note: if we dont get Arrington, I still feel we have made many improvements this offseason and think that we will be better than fine without L.A., but would do probably better (at least defensively) with him...

Easy answer.........The Money he will want after the Peterson deal went down. Even if he really wanted to play here, our pockets are not even close to being THAT Deep.

money...after the contract JP signed, LA won't settle for anything else.

We have to find a way to sign him!!! He is a stud and we need to pay the man!! He wont make more money than Seau did. So lets sign him!!

He is going to want JP money, and as much as he would be a great sign, I would prefer a Rookie.

I think it's just common sense that makes most of us feel that LA will demand too much money for us to spend. He is pretty equal in talent to Peterson..Peterson got $55 mil...what do you think ???

i still want him but the jp deal made me think that saban has other plans than go spend that money on arrington and really we dont have that kind of cash to sign lavar but i would love to have him if he would take less money this year and more next year.

I haven't given up on him, I want him in a Phins uniform since I heard we were interested!

Well, Peterson is making more than Seau was...Peterson was signed for about $55 mil...Peterson and Arrington are pretty close in talent...Arrington will make more than Seau was making here...

I have no idea why everyone is stressing over that money. Have you all forgotten about the COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT? The salary cap is going to inflate substantially over the next few years, and Petersons' 7 year contract accounted for that.

You're correct- we still have a chance. The realistic posters knew this would be the type of money he would be commanding, and I dont think this changes anything.

Just because Julian Peterson got that deal does not mean Lavar will. Someone said he will not settle for any less. Well he might have to because no one is going to offer him that much. Julian has way more upside and I think we are still in it with the Giants, but they have not even offered him a contract. We are very much still in this however we will not overpay for him or anyone else.

Lavar said he wants to have his family here in Miami too, I smell less money to have that happen.

Yes the cap is going up a lot over the next few years. But next year it only goes up 7 mil,so when signing anyone they need to be thinking of next year's cap.

Before I get flamed for asking this, let me preface by saying that I have been in Orlando helping to direct an academic conference since last Friday and as such have been completely out of the loop. Who did Julian Peterson sign with?
