I do like Chad Pennington and hope his injury isn't career ending, but we need to know NOW whether or not Henne is the future of this franchise or not. I won't make snap judgments about Henne's poor performance today, I know it will take a least a couple games I would think for him to get in a rhythm.

Ya see, by Pennington being out for the year, we win in 2 ways.

1. If Henne starts to play really well by the end of the year, then we have hope going into next year and can address other areas of need on our team.

2. If Henne is NOT the future, our record will be absolutely abysmal this year, and will be in contention for getting a Sam Bradford or Colt McCoy in the draft.

I really hope Henne pans out, but honestly, I am not holding my breath.

On a side note, I highly recommend that everyone pick up the Buffalo Bills defense next week in fantasy football, as Henne is certain to throw AT LEAST one pick-6, probably two.

And Dolphin fans got on Jets fans for clapping when Penny got hurt, now your doing the same thing...

Come off it, I get some of you want to see Henne, but not at the expense of someone being injured...

Wrong. I am not reveling in Pennington's misfortune. I like him as a player person, leader...... and truly feel bad that he got hurt. I am just trying to point out the positives that could arise from his injury being season ending.

I honestly don't think McCoy will be worth a damn in the league.

i tend to agree we have to see what henne has. If hes a quality starting quarterback. if not we probably draft one in the first round.

It's rediculous. Seems like nowhere the guy goes can he get any respect. So under-appreciated.

You love him. There are about 60% if not more of the fan base that likes the guy, limitations and all.
I don't know if Henne is the answer, but WE will all get to see first hand now. I put this season on the FO and CS. They did little this offseason to build depth and add playmakers.

Well I guess we don't have to worry about Pennington being resigned.

Yes!! It sucks that Pennington got hurt, but we need to stop wasting 2nd round picks on 4th tier quarterbacks and use a high first on someone who has a much better chance at being our franchise QB.

If we are going to draft a QB, I think we have to take Clausen or Tebow.....hopefully Chad P will be ok, but we have to get the QB spot corrected. I keep wondering what might have been had we signed up Brees instead of Culpooper.

Uh no and double no.

It's not that i love him... It's just it pissed me off beyond belief seeing thread after thread calling for Henne. Henne proved to me today that he is not ready to start, like many on this site believe. You're absolutely right, we do need to see some of Henne this season, and we have and will see more. It was getting driven into the ground here. This guy HOPING Pennington is out for the season... That's wrong, you don't hope for a guy to be out.
