Why I Think Fisher Has Chosen the Rams Already

Fisher is coming to MIami I just got word from the most trusted sourse I have mark my words, also Wake is gonna SHINE in the 4-3 DFence mark those words as well!!!!!!! DOLPHINS ARE BACK YOU GUYS SO YOU ALL SHOULD BE VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!

and who would that be jeff ireland ?

While the OP could be just as right as anyone else who is guessing at all this, I do have some concerns with this theory. 1) typically teams could care less about other teams that lose out on coaches/players to do such a "face-saving" move; 2) If Miami were truly in a damage control stage, they'd have other candidate lined up for interviews, even if they weren't seriously being considered for the appearance of us having moved on to other candidates, which we have not and basically have stopped the process until Fisher decides; 3) I think this "damage control" would be a waste of time because everyone knows we are "all in" on this Fisher thing, so anything short of landing him will be viewed negatively by most of the fans. Unfortunately, as much as our own FO has created this mess, the press has multiplied the drama around it 10 times to what it should have been.

true and imo i think we are in contract talks with fisher as i type this just because of what you said about us not interviewing anybody else ,thats why i think WE WILL LAND JEFF FISHER.

I agree with beenthere84, its just like when Brees signed with NO I recall reading Saban telling of the story mia. Notified Brees so he could let NO announce the signing first.

It jumped out at me when I heard shefter say no money has been negotiated yet...I was like wtf, that's BS if I ever heard BS in my life.

Yeah right, if one team was offering 10mil a year and the other 1mil a year, you wouldn't even be talking to the 1mil team no matter how sweet they make it sound. I'm thinking you would have to know the $ going into any negotiations or otherwise why would you waste your time with someone who's not even in the ballpark. I'm thinking salary amounts are close, just need to figure how much money for staff and everything else and amount of control.

he is coming to miami

Looks like beenthere84 was EXACTLY right. Props man.

Thanks dude. I just think we still aren't hearing the real story. I think Ross would have fired Ireland in a nanosecond IF Fisher had decided to come to Miami. He didn't, so the spin was he chose Ireland over Fisher. I don't buy it. The "leaks" were nothing more than spin.

And I still don't believe Fisher wasn't offered money by both sides. A complete face-saving move by the Dolphins. Again, the Rams would have spun it too. Whatever team lost would have a credibility issue.

The fans may be fooled by the "reported" reasons for Fisher choosing the Rams. Worse though, is that people in NFL circles are smarter than that. I would imagine most NFL people know these reports were disingenuous and bs, and that can only hurt landing a top coach in the near future. Best option now is to gamble on a young and up coming coordinator who (gulp) would like to work with Ireland.

The Dolphins spin also makes it difficult for Ireland to be fired in the near future. Sigh.

ok ,you name me one (1) person that will come here and let ireland tell him what to do when the reason for them coming here is to coach ,and how can you coach when your getting coached yourself ,thats the real reason that we didnt get Cowher was because Ross wanted ireland to have say over personnel .

i dont think so i think Ross was serious and just showed how serious he is about ireland haveing the say so over any coach that we choose to bring in here, imo no coach is going to come here and take that kind of a row with this team, for one ,just say we was to go on to win the SB with a no name coach who would get all the praise ? ill tell ya ,ireland would and the no name coach would not get a chance to make a name for himself and the last time i looked thats why OC and DC get a head coaching job is because they become very very good at the job there doin,im not going to go to a team and try to coach a poss that another guy is going to get ALLL THE CREDIT FOR . IMHO ? i would take that job the way Ross wants to run it.
