Here is why I think the Dolphins will win Sunday.
First and foremost is the fact that we are the home team and the fans will be the twelfth man for sure. I can't believe the Vegas odds makers have us as 6 point underdogs at home, I know the Saints have a good team, but 6 points...holy hell, what are they smoking?
Let's not forget that the Dolphins had an extra week to prepare for the Saints...more time to add some more wrinkles to our Wild Cat formation, also more time for Chad Henne to get his timing down with the receivers.
I heard that Chris Simms say that the Saints secondary looks somewhat suspect as long as they stay away from Darren Sharper, the fins should be able to make some big plays in the passing game.
The Wild Cat will give any defense nightmares facing Ricky and Ronnie, now the passing game is starting to click.
The defense needs to start making some big plays with sacks, tackles for losses and especially forcing some turn overs. These guys are overdue for an excellent game, shut down the run and get to Brees, turn up the heat and force him into bad decisions.
Why is it that the experts always seem to think a team like the Saints cannot be beaten? Sure they beat the Giants the week before, but they we the ones who had the extra week to prepare...coincidence??? Hmmmmmmmm!

For the Saints

when they come into Miami on Sunday.

Those scenes exemplify it perfectly...heh

It's a Trap game for them.

Good post....every week the media falls in love with a new team. We beat the Saints and all the writers and reporters will be jumpin on the Colts, Vikes, or Broncs superbowl bandwagon.

No team looks unbeatable this year...including the Saints. The Dolphins will roll Sunday!

I can see why Vegas is giving them 6 points. I can see this game getting away from us very fast. Although I don't expect it, If the Saints jump out to a 14-0 or 21-3 lead early then we are going to be forced to throw early and I just don't see that situation working out well for us. But that is a worst case scenario.

I think, no I know, that we are going to win the TOP battle. That seems to be a given every week regardless of the opponent, but it helps that they are a throw first team also. I think that if we can stop some of their opening drive then that gives us a much bigger boost than most think. Not only from a strategic standpoint but a mental one too. We are a team that seems to get better as the game goes on. So if we hold them to under 14 points in the first half than i think we have a great shot of winning this game.

I love how Indy is suppose to be great and Manning plays lights out and we still barely lose because we drop a ball in the endzone. The NYJ`s are the greatest ever and we crush their all world defense up and down the field. Does that really get us any respect ? No, of course not, the Saints are the next all world team we will face and after we win this one we`ll hear about NE being unstoppable!!!!

The Saints only played a 3-4 defense once this year.

And they only scored 10 offensive points against it. And that was at home.. Drew Brees' numbers are not nearly as good on the road as they are at home in the dome.

There is a big difference between playing a 3-4 defense like Miami has and a 4-3.. Especially when you rarely play against it.

The Saints very VERY rarely played against a 3-4 over the past couple of years.

I read where Joey Porter said the Dolphins need to make it a street fight and not let New Orleans get the early lead, they have never trailed yet this year. He said if the Dolphins can stay with them early on...they can finish them off later.;):D GO FINS!!

2-3 LOL.

You are crying about respect when your team is 2-3? Lol, and I thought some Saints fans where cry babies about the whole "no respect" crap.

You want respect? Win games. Your team wins 2 games against teams my Saints left in shambles after lossing 3 games to decent/good teams. Respect? Alrighty then...

Sorry, but the closer to gameday it gets the more my smack start reving up. I was getting nauseated with all the nice talk earlier in the week between opposing fans. By Sunday I will probably be baned. :p

The Dolphins scored more points against the Bills and Jets than you did.

Your offense was only able to muster 10 points against the Jets defense.. The same jets defense Miami scored 31 points on.

And you only had a measly 10-7 lead against the Bills at the start of the 4th quarter.. Miami killed them 38-10.

Seems like the Saints have problems against 3-4 defenses, as you very rarely play against 3-4's.. The same type of defenses Miami and the Jets run.

Pennington was the QB of those 3 games we lost. Last I checked the Colts were still undefeated. Keep lookin at the record Stfan, u will get a front row seat when our run game turns ur suspect defense into part of the landshark turf.

The formula for beating the 5-0 New Orleans Saints is simple, Joey Porter says.

Keep them close, make them uncomfortable and drag them into a street fight.

"You just have to get them in a fight to where it's going to be a knuckle-up fight," the Miami Dolphins veteran linebacker said. "It's not going to be one-sided in the first half. We've got to keep the game within reach or we're up by a lot, making them chase. That works for us. Whatever we do, we can't let (Drew) Brees and the offense get going early."

The Saints have yet to trail for a single minute this season in racing out to a 5-0 start, making them one of four NFL unbeatens. They are averaging 38.4 points per game and posting an average margin of victory of 19.8 points.

Porter is hopeful the Dolphins will find a way to change that.

"We want to make them play from behind to where you can take away the double-headed monster of being able to run the ball for 150 yards and pass for 350," Porter said. "You let them get in that comfort zone, it's going to be a long day. Doesn't matter who you're playing against."

The Saints have jumped out to 7-0 leads or better against every opponent, including 17-0 against the New York Jets and 14-0 last Sunday against the New York Giants. But Porter said the Dolphins have been encouraged by the Saints' relative struggles in Week 3 at Buffalo, where the Bills trailed just 10-7 entering the fourth quarter before falling 27-7.

"We've been studying that Buffalo game a lot," Porter said. "I think they got to (Brees) three times and made him fumble. Made Reggie (Bush) fumble the ball a couple times. For the long part of the game, that was a close game."

The Dolphins, by comparison, blew out the Bills 38-10 to snap a 0-3 start.

For all the highlights the Saints produce with the league's No. 7 passing offense, it's their No. 4 rushing offense the Dolphins would like to stop first. Considering the Dolphins come in ranked third in the league against the run and just 18th against the pass, that seems like a solid plan.

"We need to take away that run and make Brees play from a different element he hasn't played from all year," Porter said. "Our goal is to get to Reggie Bush often and not let him have the game to where he's hitting the seams and getting big gashes. Make him earn everything he gets, keep him under 2 yards a carry and at the end of the day switch it to Drew Brees and get it one-sided to where you know they're going to pass."

SERIES HISTORY: 10th regular-season meeting. Dolphins lead series 6-3. Dolphins have won the last two games, including a 21-6 win at Baton Rouge in the Saints' first home game following Hurricane Katrina. This will be just their third meeting in Miami and their first since 1980. The Dolphins won both previous meetings in Miami.
