I started thinking about this yestarday and i came up with some pretty good reasons.

1. We are good vs the run

That forced Sanchez to beat us with his arm. While he did admirably, he wasnt able to do it.

2. Revis a non-factor

Why do i say that? Facts are facts Revis is the best corner in the league. Hes great against number 1 receivers. But we dont have a number 1 receiver. lol Jets were doing us a favor by having him on Ted Ginn. He was probably only going to catch 1 or 2 balls in the game anyways Basically leaving the rest of our WRs to work against beatable CBs.

3. O-line was Healthy

Our O-line was healthy and when healthy i think we have a top 3 OL.
Our guys were punishing opposing defenses letting Ronnie and Ricky do their thing.

any questions comments or concerns?

I definitely agree with the Revis point. Revis can take away any #1 WR in the league. Teams that are overly reliant on that guy like the Bengals were are unable beat the Jets. The Jets defense is sorta like the opposite of the old Ravens' defenses: they're awesome against the pass, but just good against the run.

The Revis point is actually a good one, I did not consider that. However, I really don't think our o-line has ever played like a top 3 unit. I never really saw it with this group, especially against the pass rush. We are a good to very good run blocking o-line, but when it comes to protecting the QB we are pretty average.
Losing Ronnie Brown was big, but the guy is really never healthy. I would not be upset if we drafted a runningback in the 3rd round on.

I don't think our O-Line ever really got a fair shot to prove their worth. They were weak early on and took a few weeks to get rolling in pass protection, and then Pennington went down. It took a few weeks for Henne to finally develop some semblance of NFL caliber pocket presence and by then the unit was shuffling backups in and out. Now all those excuses don't make them a great offensive line, but I'm willing to give them another year to impress me.

actually i should apologize i think i should of specified that i think we are a top 3 OL in run blocking.

if i were the Jets i would have put Revis on Bess, that would of done more damage to us. He caught alot of 3rd down passes for 1st downs.

I think we were able to beat them because we have a better team.

I think our team was good enough to win 9 games, get in the playoffs, and beat the Bengals on the road.

Problem is, our coaching staff destroyed the chances of that happening by losing games early in the year that the players played well enough to win in. Then we lost 4 games down the stretch, 1 to a bad team in Buffalo, and 3 in a row vs. mediocre teams to end the season(2 at home) largely do to coaching errors.

In the meantime the Jets were handed 2 wins to end the season by teams resting players. Now you can certainly argue they wouldve beaten the Bengals anyway, but Im not so sure they couldve beaten the undefeated Colts. Sure, it was possible, the Jets are a pretty decent team. Then again so are we, only problem is our coaching staff gives some games away.

This is true. The Jets have a lot of talent, but it just needed to come together.

As a Jets fan I'm curious, to know what some of you think the score will be in the Jets/Chargers game on Sunday.

Thank you.

If you gave me 2 losses to the Jets this year to be where they are.. second round of the playoffs.. I'd take it anyday.

You are what your record says you are. Jets are a better team right now. As much as I HATE to say it.

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda....WE CHOKED PERIOD! Schedule aside....the 2009 Team was pathetic considering we have the Big tuna running the show. Changes are coming....Coach P today, who's next....I can't wait!:hump:

 :thanks: now go get ready for 2010 draft and tell your Wet Fans start planningfor TEE time because it will be over on Sunday. I guarantee it. :rimshot:

The second Jets game was decided by nothing but two outstanding special team's play. In every other facet the Jets beat us soundly, they just allowed the two big plays that killed them.

We beat them because we're a better team led by a better Quarterback.

The Jets need to send Christmas Cards this year to every team in the AFC who decided they didn't feel like going to the playoffs this year, allowing the Jets to worm their way in as everybody else fell asleep at the wheel. They are not a good football team, they are not better than a number of teams who missed the playoffs, they apparently are better than the fraud Bengals however, which is a shame because that team had me fooled for a while too.

San Diego will shell them this week. Good bye and Good riddance Jets.
