We all knew going in2 this that ryan tannehill was not gonna be john elway in year 2. I signed up for this "project" I knew what I was getting myself into and so did u. Everybody screamed for a franchise QB so we took one. Did we all forget what mike mayock said before the draft? What about kiper mcshay all said this would be a 2-3 year project. Mayock said "the kid can make all the throws but i would be scared to death to start the kid right away. Let him sit 2-3 years and in year 4 you might have a stud." Everybody voiced concern about how raw he was. He was a cornerback in highschool. Then QB. Then WR. Then back to QB. He is still in the learning phase of trying to learn to be a QB. He beat luck ryan wilson weeden dalton. When i watch weeden play i say "omg this dude is not a franchise QB." The browns and everybody knew they need a QB. Weeden is a bust. But not many outsiders will say tannehill is a bust yet. Tirico said "the nice young looking QB for miami." Or "tannehill is on fire right now 12 straight completions. Tannehill has to improve his pocket presence yes absolutely. Tannehill had to learn to run when the pocket breaks down yes we know. Tannehill had to cut down the turnovers and he actually has the last few games. Tannehill has actually completed 50% of his deep balls this year but only 24% to wallace. He is resilient and fearless and bounces back like bills game 2 ints only to throw 3 straight tds. Be careful what you wish for tannehill is "progressing" not "regressing" he hasnt reached his ceiling yet. Henne peaked in year 2 tannehill hasnt. His numbers are up in every major category. Be careful to show him the door to quickly good QBs are not easy to find these days and tannehill is pretty good already. Unless u can pull off a trade for big ben or u are 100% about somebody in the draft then just let the kid grow.
Kid is playing with a horrible oline horrible run game injury depleted weaponry w keller binns gibson gone and WRs who cantr separate.

Now i have no clue how good tannehill can be i personally think he can be a top 7-12 QB if we give him time. I knew this was a project so im gonna be patient.

2012: QBR 76.1, completion pct 58%, yards 3,294 TD 12

2013: QBR 81.2, comp pct 61, yards 2,206 TD 13

he was suppose to sit for a year while david garrards corpse or matt moore butchered the position...people here don't understand what qb development means evidently...they want tom brady in his prime out of the womb...don't let em depress you...frankly his rating would be in the 90's for the season at least if the oline wasn't so freaking horrid...but i'll just wait for the day the oline is not an eye sore and have the last laugh...

anyways i think your yards passing are 1000 over...the kids made some strides pretty much across the board but the wins aren't coming and people are doing what they do...blame the qb...

when the freaking elephant in the room that glows at you and blinks and sticks out like a sore thumb is the oline...hell they even admitted it was an issue ie the front office when they traded for bryant mckinnie...but you can lead a horse to water you can't make em drink

I don't think anyone can safely say he's a bust yet, but I also don't think anyone can safely say he'll ever be any better than he is now.

How can u say that"shouright" when he has statisticLly progressed in every single major category doesnt that mean he is trending up not down?

you just opened up pandoras box for him to find a few numbers that aren't pointing up but really don't define a qbs development in the first place to throw at you til the cows come home

enjoy...

Where's the breaking news? You did use the breaking icon.....

I need to keep reminding myself this when he does boneheaded things at the end of games but when does this excuse wear out?

He hasn't trended any more upward between his first and second year than Chad Henne did through this point in his second year as a starter. Where is Chad Henne now?

Just because someone's trajectory is angled slightly upward doesn't mean his plateau isn't in the offing in the near future. Nobody here knows where this guy's ceiling is. What we do know is that this forum was wrong about its last QB at the same point in his career as a starter.

Well for Chad Henne, among the majority of the members of this forum, it hadn't worn out even through the month before his third season as a starter (2011).

tell me whats boneheaded at end of games??? he's lead game tying game winning or game clinching drives in the 4th quarter vs cleveland indy atlanta and cinci...all 4 of our wins the qb made plays in the 4th quarter...

oh you mean get sacked in the 2 minute when the pocket collapses...well short of levitating there's not much he could do with many of those...i guess that's what you mean by excuses

the chad henne thing again...look at ryan tannehills red zone efficiency td numbers vs chad hennes when he was here and tell me that these qbs are performing at the same level...

absolutely awful comparison...one guy never got the team in the end zone the other guy when he gets down there makes damn good at it...but that's not gonna fit the agenda so it's tossed out
