I understand and appreciate and even share the concept of developing Tannehill as a pocket QB but when the playoffs are on the line and your running game is useless in gametime situations where a running game is required why can they not get Tannehill to use his feet more. This game had many reasons they lost but to me the one reason they didn't win is because they just won't do the things they need to do to win.

Suprisingly I'm not upset about the loss. It just landed up being one of those games nothing was meant to go right. I know this is a team with a bright future. I didn't bank on the Dolphins going far into the playoffs even if they made it so I'm not going to wast time feeling bad over the loss. It just baffles me thet the coaching staff just doesn't adjust well.

Agreed. I'm not upset either. It is what it is. Anyone who thought this team was capable of winning 5 in a row to close out is insane.

Can you imagine the unrealistic expecations of some for 2014 if the phins made the playoffs this yr?

Its obvious that the phins need 1 more offseason to acquire OL and get seasoning for Miller, Wallace, Egnew, etc...

If Ireland goes or stays is of little consequence to me. Sherman however has got to go. Is there a top tier college program (not necessarily UTx) that needs an HC?

When you cannot block the other team there are no adjustments to be made. There was nowhere to run and I sure as hell don't want Tannehill trying in that situation.

I agree.....plenty of oppurtunities early in the game for tanny to fake the hand off and keep it for good yardage. might have changed the entire complexion of this game.

So if you can't block the opposition, you call plays to slow the pass rush. Screens, rollouts, read-option. You don't sit back in shotgun on every down, hand off to your RBs 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage, and let Tannehill drop straight back on every down.

The one thing that causes problems to a strong pass rush is a mobile QB. They have to stay in lanes and be disciplined. The Dolphins fell right into the trap and tried to take it on head to head which was a huge mistake. Worse to me is they never adjusted. What does it matter Ryan runs and gets hurt or blindsided and gets hurt?

I've never been a big "Fire Sherman" guy but I think I just crossed over to that point of view. Good coaching is about adjustments and we made none today and this was a game that conditions called for us to dumb it down to the basics, and they still didn't manage it.
