Yes, i am a dolphin fan. but i am wondering why some people on here are calling our o-line the next great o-line of the NFL. we are uncertain who will start at center. and mostly likely it is grove but he has only hadf one full healthy season. donald thomas has not shown how good he is. im just trying to be realistic. our line is not a great o-line. but i hope when the season starts that i will be proved wrong because as everyone else, i am hoping for the best out of the o-line.

We have a young talented O-line. The potential is there. Sure, they still have to show it, but all the pieces are in place.

I think you have to throw in the fact that our head coach is a very smart when it comes to working with offensive linemen.

We are sitting very good at o-line. Step two is to keep everyone healthy.

yeah. glad our head coach specializes in offensive line. and i am most scared that anyone on the line gets hurt. especially long or carey.

About the Orca-5, the Miami KillerWhales:
homer-ism
bright spot in the rebuilding process
trying to keep it positive
nothing else to talk about
fun to play with the idea
they may really turn out to be all that & more

Exactly.. listen to this sober lucid reality Fibheaven

TJ Lang in the draft could help this line even in his rookie year.

The making is there for a very, very great offensive line. Have to love having an offensive line with the possibility to be one of the best in the NFL in a few years.

:woot:expect a little Homer-ism on a DolfanSite.
this is our team & we've collectively suffered greatly supporting excruciating season after horrendous & devastating season.

AND

the Orca-5, Miami's KillerWhales may just prove to be the RealDeal
The talent, size & potential of the Orca-5, coupled with fierce competion & creative veteran coaching are a potent brew for success. The KillerWhales could explode on the gridiron in 2009.
The very rebirth of the Franchise began with Jake Long (first round pick in the draft of the ParcellianEra). And it's not lost on anybody he was a left tackle & not a QB, stud linebacker or the top BPA, running back named McFadden. Long was to anchor the new Offensive line @ LeftTackle. It was on the Offensive Line we would invest our best efforts. The choice spoke volumes for the direction & philosophy of the NewRegime. NFL football is predicated in the trenches & Miami's offensive side of the ball is on becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy & fast.
The Orca-5 could very well pave the road to greatness for the Miami Dolphins right into the 2010 SuperBowl!
And in doing so someday, be compared to the legedary Washington Hogs of old.:D

the Orca-5 (the KillerWhales) Go Fish!

i'm thrilled with what we are building up front. we are not an elite OL yet. we have one elite piece to the puzzle in Jake Long whom we can build around. that's what we're trying to do. if everyone is healthy we have the potential to be one of the best lines. of course, that means nothing if Grove and Smiley finish the season on IR, but for once i'm confident we are deep enough on the interior to field an average line even with injuries. in past seasons we couldn't field an average line with our projected starters. so, we're definitely heading in the right direction. to cut a long story short, i agree with you, we aren't elite. but we very well could be in a short time.

i have been wondering the same thing here as you...i have not read th replies yet, but i like what the line has name wise so far... pretty decent, solid... but not Great yet. when you haad your whole middle of the line hurt, and inconsistantly playing together all year, its not a good thing. Satele was definitely not great at all....

we have names, but they have to bond, mold, and perform!!! its a we'll see thang!!!

There should be another benefit of having a headcoach of the OL genealogy. Quality depth on the line will be an ongoing issue, as with many other places until the team is done rebuilding.

OUR OL IS GREAT
LT LONG: If you dont like the giant wow he is a Pro Bowl in he's first year
LG: Smiley: He could star in every team
C: Grove as name the best center in college and start 3 years in okland (only injury problems)
RG: Donald Thomas is a beast, for me the best 3 pick of the dolphins history. If you watch the first game alst year he was amazing, the trifecta call him a miracle. He is strong and faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast
RT: CAREY is a average LT but a top 10 RT, the numbers speak. Every year he was the best 3 OT in average per rush, amazing.
in the bouble: Satele if he stay whit the fins, te OL is amazing, because Grove Smiley and Thomas has injury trouble AND Satele can paly G and C

I'm with you...

I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that our current OL will be any better / stronger than it was in 2008. Grove is not coming in as an upgrade, and other than him, who's been added to make it any better??... Berger?? PLEASE.....

IN TUNA WE TRUST....
