Why is there so much feedback on Becks height

and he's taller than Doug Flutie! What's your point? That being tall isn't that important? you'd be right, but when everything else is equal, physical stats like that become more significant...

Actually I think it is a good point to note that he is like 2 inches taller then Brees. I think the hype comes from the fact that the top two rated QB's in the draft were taller. Hell, I am sure we wouldn't have passed Russell if he slipped. Yes, height isn't everything, but I will take Beck's advantage over Brees.
 
I always thought that NFL scouts put far more emphasis on "gonadal girth" than they did on height for QBs. Apparently, what Beck lacks in height, he more than makes up for in......well you get the picture.

Bob Greise was 6'1" in shoes. How tall is Vick?? How tall was Fran Tarkenton?
How tall was Namath???? How tall was Len Dawson?? How tall was Joe Montana????

Sorry to be crude but this whole idea of a QB needs to be 6'5" is Bull@#$%^&*(*&^%$#@@#$%^&*()*&^%$#@#$%^&*()(*&^%$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
When did 6-2 become short for a QB?

Marino was only 6-3

Kelly was only 6-3

Favre is only 6-2

Brees is 6-0/6-1
 
The only reason I see people making a big deal over Beck's height specifically: his low release point.

Time will tell if that's something that will need to be tweaked, and if so, whether it affects his accuracy or quickness. Might not even need to be changed though.

Because the "experts" are still trying to justify us picking Brady Quinn. Lies become fact when told often enough, and the "fact" became that Quinn belonged in Miami. They are still in shock, but it will wear off soon, I promise. :wink:

Brees was a much better college QB and odds are is a much better pro than Beck will be.
