With Wake, Vernon & Shelby at DE, together with the weakness at LB, why isnt Jordan being more thought of as an option at OLB......or is he?

I think sometimes we look at what a player cant do rather than what he can do.

In my mind, a QB or OC would be more concerned with Jordan as a starting OLB rather than a rotational DE. If Von Miller can play OLB in a 4-3 im positive Jordan can. Its not like Wheeler is a pro bowl calibre player.

With J.Jenkins also playing well in limited snaps last year, is this the reason why we seem to be looking at 1st round WR's?

With the depth of talent in 2nd and 3rd at OT, could we go Marqise Lee/Odell Beckham/Brandin Cooks with the intention of ridding ourselves of Wallace's contract next year?

With Moses, Jawaun James, Billy Turner, Joel Bitonio & Dakota Dozier, likey to go in rounds 2-3 and fitting the ZBS, I could def envisage 2014, with Jordan at OLB, WR round one and 2 rookie OT's competing for RT spot.

Because Miami runs a 4-3 not a 3-4. He can't key-flow-fill from a stacked position and when walked up in a 9 technique he can't set the edge. If we ran a 3-4 he would fit in as a weakside OLB where he could mostly run plays down from the backside rather than take on frontside blocks.

Exactly we run the wrong scheme for that. Jordan is better suited for that scheme too he would blow up

Let him be a pass rusher.. Kacy Rodgers is one of the best DL coaches in the business.. Wake wasn't an All-Pro in his first year.. Give Jordan sometime to continue to get bigger/stronger and develop an inside counter, and convert speed-to-power. We all know he can edge rush and run down plays from behind.

I agree Jordan is better suited to a 3-4 or as a pass rushing end in 4-3, but how dies he best serve miami 2014?

IMO that is as a starting OLB. He is too good to be a rotational player and if that's the plan trade him.

His best fit will be to kick Vernon inside on dime packages and let him rush from the right defensive end. He is what he is, and right now that's a rotational situational pass rusher.. He needs time.. you don't trade away someone with that athleticism, length, and ability to bend around the edge

Why can't he line up at 4-3. It's not about where his best position is, it's about how he best help the team. He can cover TE's and rush the passer, so why not? Is it better to have Wheeler And just use Jordan on pass rushing downs???

May be hard to believe, but yes.

I also don't think Miami anticipated Vernon to progress the way he did

I think we have to get more creative when it comes to DJ. I just don't see the 3rd pick in the draft as a situational pass rusher in the dime. I agree that he needs time and I don't want to trade him. He should be some type of hybrid player that drives other teams crazy because they're never sure where he's going to line up and they don't know if he's defending the pass or coming after the QB. He could be very effective and disruptive if deployed correctly.

Kid got a sack week 1 but had a facemask
Kid almost got a big sack on luck the next week
Kid hit ryans arm and caused the game sealing int vs atl
Kid hit flaccos arm and caused a pick
Just put him on the field somewhere

Caused a pick 6! Like you said "Just put him on the field somewhere."

Would it be possible to have Dion Jordan play OLB as somewhat of an Elephant role but lined up overtop of the tight end or would that simply cause too many issues for run defense?

So the solution is to play Dion Jordan at DE?

LOL!

I think he'd be a very good 4-3 SLB. When we drafted him, I tolerated the pick/trade up only because I assumed we'd use him in a role similar to Von Miller (not that he's on that level or even close). Use his length and his unreal ability for a guy in space at that size. That's where he's great, and it's the only area he's great.

Kevin Croyle insist on Square Peg round hole.

Switch to a 3-4 and put your best weapons on the field at the same time.
