Guys I know alot of you dont like culpepper or feel that 2nd pick was a waste. You forget Culpepper had his best season as a QB 2 years ago.Must you forget how talented he is?

Some fans just like to complain for the sake of complaining. The truth is that Saban took a calculated risk, and he made a great trade by minimizing the cost to a 2nd round pick in 2007. If someone had told me yesterday that we could get Daunte Culpepper for NEXT YEAR'S 2nd round pick, I would have laughed in their face. Saban pulled it off.

Is Daunte's knee going to be healthy for the rest of his Dolphins career? I don't know. Every player comes with question marks. Would Brees have any arm strength after the surgery? Is Leinart's heart into football? Will Vince Young be able to adapt his game to the pros? Will Jay Cutler develop into an effective, efficient QB?

I'll be one of the only ones to say great job Saban. Thanks for upgrading the team I love. :D

Lets see how many people go back on their word and praise Dante.

im not complaining i prefer culpepper. I like him more than brees just by a little bit!! I wanted him to be our QB a bit more than i wanted Bress but i wouldnt mind if brees was our QB.

I had my doubts with both QBs but I think with Dante atleast you know he can throw with Brees he might be like Pennington.

Cullpepper's turnover ratio rivals that of Fiedler partly because he has small hands which causes more than usual fumbles. I want to see him do something without Moss in the lineup which he failed to do last season before the injury.

I couldn't have said it better. If I am correct Saban kept Scott Linehans offense in place for this year under Mike Mularkey and that Offense is the same Offense that Culpepper thrived in during his Pro Bowl Seasons at Minnesota. The glass is half full guys we will be fine.

i think your assessment of the culpepper trade has been the best one i've read so far!
i wholeheartedly agree with you. you can't trully acess the whole situation with culpepper and the other players until we see the product on the field.
i think it would be rise not to rush dante to play even if we have to take the hit in 2007, looks like he's our qb of the future and does us absolutely no good if he tears that knee up in 2006
