I don't want this thread to be a "Ted Ginn is a Bust" thread. I just want to know why people think that he didn't see the field until garbage time. Was Sparano trying to teach him a lesson? Was he really terrible in practice? I mean seriously he isn't so bad that he should be on the sidelines all game, especially for this team.

i have no idea where he was its kinda frustrating let the dude play jesus!

I don't understand it either. Sure, he may not be Jerry Rice yet, but why not let the guy at least return kicks and punts for a team that has to play field position? He has already proven he can take it to the house on numerous occasions. I mean, WTF?

I had read he wasn't practicing with the first team much of the week. He is either being taught a lesson to get some heart, or he is losing his job. Didn't even return kicks in this game so it may very well be both.

i have no idea. he's young, and he's making a lot of money, and we don't have good receivers, why isn't he on the field trying to develop?

He started, he was just a non factor, and yes he is that bad at this time.

He isn't that bad returning kicks and punts. We all know that. Get something out of the guy and it may even help his confidence, which is obviously in the toilet.

Here's what Sparano has said about punt returning:

"I think a punt returner is a strong-body guy, strong physically, and he has a capability of making the first guy miss," Sparano said. "Bess has that ability. That's nothing against Ted Ginn. Ted's a speed guy where Devon is a bit more of a shake guy."

Someone started a thread earlier in the week saying something along the lines of Sparano was looking to bench Ginn or play him less.

Like I predicted when the "sign Pennington" hubbub ratcheted up, we'd end up having to hire housekeeping staff to dust Ginn off every Monday.
